Depending on the time of the year, you can spot whales here! The drive up is steep but on a motor cycle it's easy. Be carefull in the corners!

An enjoyable boat trip up to the heads. Wild birds to watch. Most boats won't go through the heads but ours did and it was quite rough out in the open sea. Boat trips are expensive. It gets chilly so take a jacket.

The Board walk on the edge of the cliff is nice, the view point foot path from the parking is well thought, if you have time carry on driving all the way down to the beach, and walk on the rocks.

Once we found our way (rental car) down to the area of what are called "the heads" it was lovely-WOW!. Walked about the water areas with the gorgeous rock shapes and colors (vertical and sandy with reds; bitty fish and muscles. Water splashing to beat the band=just magnificent. If not in time crunch, could easily have spent lots more time... More

Took a boat trip to the Knysna Heads. Average rating but worth the activity as there is not that much to do when spending a week in Knysna

And more views .......... Ocean, lagoon and sky. Though high up, the heads are close to great viewing sites and the beach. The area is also quiet and very safe and secure

These two rocky promontories stand on either side of the Knysna River's entry to the sea - the Eastern Head having a much steeper cliff face than the more gently rounded Western Head. An amazing view is to be had from the Eastern Head which is approached up a steeply winding, narrow road.On the crest ,adequate parking is to be... More

We spent a sunny morning on the East Head and it was well worth it. We firstly took the road to the top of the hill and stopped at the view point looking west (over the entrance to the bay) and then round the path to the South looking out to sea. We all enjoyed watching the whales out at... More
