Although this was our last stop, we would recommend this area to young adventurers, and families..there is everything for you to explore; there are mt hikes , sailing , surfing, Kayaking, and zip line for the energetic in the Tsitikamma national Park. Horse riding, and mt biking. As we are older, and it was wet, we hired a car, drove... More

We stayed at Storms River Mouth in Tsitsikamma (Garden Route National Park). It was absolutely beautiful, the accommodation is amazing - right on the sea, the hikes and walks are so gorgeous. We enjoyed the restaurant as well just found it a little expensive and the baboons were not pleasant! We will definitely visit is again and recommend anyone to... More

Many people we have known have gone to South Africa recently and none of them stopped on the Garden Route so we weren't quite sure what to expect when we signed up for three nights in Knysna. It was one of our (if not THE) favorite stops out of the five stops we made in South Africa. It has something... More

We stopped here at Storms River on our way to Port Elizabeth for lunch and a walk. The restaurant looked quite expensive but turned out to be very good value as the portions were big and the food was delicious. The setting is beautiful and I would love to have had more time there. There is a lovely little beach... More

This is a lovely place to walk around with plenty of choice for the length of walk, terrain etc. The suspension bridges at the estuary of Storms River are great. There is a lovely restaurant that offers a huge choice of meals and great views across the bay to watch the whales.

What I really wanted to write about was Old Nick Village along the Garden Route but the ‘Search’ did not find it. Starting from Tsitsikamma after spending 2 nights there at Swallows Nest, near Plettenberg Bay is this cluster of shops each housed in small house-like structures. We bought some lovely statuettes ( it was so difficult to choose )... More

Very pretty area and scenic views. Nice eating places to stop on route. Check out the bungy jumping at Tsitsikamma. You'll see lots of monkeys along the roadside. Sunsets are amazing as your driving a long.

The term "Garden Route " has been given to the area, traversed by the N2, roughly from Tsitsikama in the east, through to Mossel Bay in the west. Since the N2 has been upgraded and the roadsides planted with indigenous fynbos, it can rightly boast of being one of the most picturesque areas in South Africa. The mix of forest, mountains,... More
