Amazing experience with beautiful committed people

The tour is excellent! People are very committed and money gets reinvested in human and animal welfare. An absolute must do.

The tour itself is excellent and really powerful. I don't want to spoil anything but I'll just suffice to say you won't be disappointed and the more you put in to this tour the more you will take away from the experience. The only thing that could be improved is the pickup spot could be a bit more organized.

A very worthwhile way to spend a couple of hours, and it's great to see first-hand how the money made by Emzini gets reinvested into the township to help local people. Knysna's a small town and the township is a (comparatively) small one, which means that the progress that is being made is perhaps more visible here than elsewhere. But... More

Ella is an inspirational lady and along with driver Penny we felt completely welcome and had an enjoyable, informative and eye opening tour of a township. Visiting Ella's home, meeting the children she looks after and being entertained was a pleasure. You really must do this if you are in the Knysna area! Allow more than 3 hours if you... More

We spent an incredible 3 hours with 6 other tourists and Ella as our guide. What an inspirational lady! We had the benefit of her incredible knowledge and passion for the rights and needs of the people living in this township. We learned a great deal about the impact of apartheid and the experience of post-apartheid south Africa for the... More

We were the only two on this particular tour so had great attention from our 2 guides. We found it to be a great insight into life in the townships. The joy these people have is an eye opener and is a must for all those who visit South Africa and Knysna jn particular. To meet the kids that Ella... More

We went on the tour with about 16 other people on two small buses. We had been to townships before which were much worse in terms of the poverty levels and endless shacks. It was still very interesting to see how the people live but lacked a historical perspective on how the townships came about during the apartheid era. I'd... More

We were a bit apprehensive to go on this tour. We have seen townships in Cape Town from our car and we were very interested to see how many people live in this wonderful country, but it also felt a bit like voyeurism. The owner of our B&B convinced us that we would support the community and that's why we... More
