We booked a private tour through Ligia who runs the wine desk as we had used the company on a previous visit to Cape Town and found their service to be most excellent. We were not disappointed second time around. We visited 4 vineyards in Franschhoek and 2 in Stellenbosch. They were all fantastic but our wine desk guide Mervyn... More

We booked the one day Cape Peninsula and Winery tour via the Wine Desk. Tour booking was smooth. We ended up being the only people doing the tour that day so had the great pleasure of having Wayne Donaldson from Ocean & Vine Tours all to ourselves. He gave us a great run through the beautiful peninsula scenery with lots... More

We had a day trip round Stellenbosch with Jamie as our guide. He was very knowledgable and was happy to start from the beginning (for us wine beginners!) The wine was great and we learned a lot! Jamie was also very helpful in advising us of other great things we should see and do while we were in South Africa.... More

Ligia was my online contact who set up everything for us. She was courteous, friendly, and she was very interested in helping us pick the right tour. When she knew we were doing another wine tour, she was able to suggest something new and different: the Wine Tour with Peebles Project, a non-for-profit organization dedicated to helping the children of... Two day trip into Stellenbosch with an overnight at the River Manor Hotel. Well, this was to be a standard trip to a decent wine region in order to broaden our own experience and buying capability during visits to the supermarkets! Initially, a poor start .... No transport and no guide at our hotel. After profuse apologies and the acquisition... More

The Wine Desk was cheerful & courteous to our last-minute call, and set us up with Jamie Greatorex, Mayor of the wine lands and recently of BBC fame. Jamie was the friendliest, most gregarious, most knowledgeable guide we could have asked for. Along with being a knowledge font on wine, sociology and national politics, he found us such bonus items... More

We planned a short trip to Cape Town and knew that a wine route tour was on the cards but we hadn't gotten around to booking anything. I did a quick search on Google and came across the Wine Desk website. We called them on Thursday 1 Dec and got hold of Ligia who was very happy to meet us... More

During a recent visit to the Mother City (Cape Town, South Africa) we stumbled across the Wine Desk, located in the Information Center at the V&A Waterfront and decided to book a winery tour. After a brief chat with owner, Ligia de Coito, we chose the Cape Peninsula full-day tour which included several of the "must see/do" attractions in the... More

I had the most amazing and perfect experience! I found Wine Desk and Ligia on trip advisor. It soon became evident to me in my numerous emails to her that this lady knows South African wine and is truly connected to the local hotel and tourism industry I was looking for a genuine wine tasting experience and wanted to understand... The Waterfront Wine Desk is run by Liggia and her brother Roger, and in our experience they are simply the best provider of tours that we have found in CPT. We have been most impressed by the care taken to accommodate the wishes of clients and by the willingness to respond positively to clients comments and observations. This was demonstrated... More
