While staying in Cape Town, my friend and I decided to take a day and drive out to the game reserve. Aquila is small, but it's the best way to see the big 5 if your staying just in Cape Town and not traveling the rest of South Africa. It is a 2 hr drive to Aquila, but it is... More

I would not recommend this safari to anyone. We left early and did not even go on our last safari. This place offers a glorified zoo. None of the animals are native to the area and they are fed by Aquila and all hang out in same area. It was so depressing to see the animals caged into this area... More

This is a small private reserve but you can see the big five there if you can't afford a safari park. it is about a 2 hour drive from Cape Town but is well worth it.

We stayed for 2 nights, the drink on arrival was a nice gesture, lunch good selection but the first night evening meal was roughly the same as lunch not a lot of thought had gone into it The second day was a lot better in the evening. The rooms were comfortable and the outdoor shower novel, but there was no... More

Accommodation was fine, we were in room 14 and enjoyed being close to fence and the two old buffaloes. Food was very good, no complaints. We have lunch, supper and breakfast and ate too much. The actual nature reserve was somewhat disappointing as it is extremely small and literally all animals are being feed. The lions look pretty fat and... More

Situated a few hours outside of Cape Town the Aquila Safari Park is in a word magnificent. The chalets are rustic, comfortable and have great touches for want of a better word like an outside shower and sit down bath tubs. (I didn’t use the bath I would have felt bad about using all that water for myself). We arrived... More

If there's no time to visit one of the major national game parks in S.A. this is a good Chance to see some of the big five in a rather natural Habitat and at Close range. Rangers are very knowledgeable and professional, as are all other staff members. Some very good work in the Rehabilitation of endangered wild animals, too. A... More

I visited Aquila first time when they just started this operation and had a lovely time, meet the owner and his family and all was very intimate and personal, had the best time and looked realy forward to revisit 12 years later. No it is just a big upersonal tourist machine with ignorant and staff that gives effort about service... More

Comfortable, Zoo Safari: so there is certainty to see all animals in a short period of time. And safety for children under 5 y.o.. Near Cape Town, nice for a break out of Town, food was unfortunately not great would prefer less but better quality. Our Rooms was very basic, would expect more for the price.

I took my Mom through for Mother's day - everything was excellent, from the time that we arrived, the friendly staff, knowledgeable game guide, fantastic food, comfortable accommodation - it was awesome and we had a wonderful time. If you want to see the Big 5 and be assured of seeing them in a short space of time, if time... More
