As other contributors indicated: it's somewhat halfway between a zoo and a safari. The herbivores (elephants, buffalos, rhinos,...) are sharing a few thousands hectares of land, yet it's clear most of them have their preferred spot (where they most probably receive some extra feeding) hence are not too difficult to find... Lions and other carnivores are kept separately. Yet we... More

Day Safari with family was the idea. Its over 2 hours drive from Cape Town. On arrival we had a welcome drink followed by lunch which was average. As it was month of August, it was quite cold. We then got into a pick-up which was modified with seats. The driver who was also our guide seem to be knowledgeable... More

Oh what an amazing experience! We went as a family & thoroughly enjoyed it. Our tour guide was a tiny ball of fun... with his funny anecdotes! He made our tour amazing. Just an overall great experience.

This was such a delight! I took a day trip from the Westin Cape Town and was amazed by what a gorgeous drive our driver took us on via the N1, right through wine country, the Huguenot Tunnel and the breathtaking Du Toit's Kloof Pass, with waterfalls and granite mountians. Once there, champagne and food was lovely. Please request our... More

I went with my two sons ,and family for an overnight stay,on a winter special, which comprised all meals, two game drives and accommodation for a very reasonable rate. The accommodation was very comfortable, and even the winter morning did not detract from the interesting outdoor shower. The food provided was in the form of a buffet and was very good if not exceptional. The service... We a family of 3 - my wife, my 3 yr old daughter and myself had gone for a safari at the Aquila game reserve. Aquila allows even babies to accompany at game drives which is such a relief. We were picked at 6:30 am sharp as mentioned to us and reached the game reserve at 8:30. Waiting for us... More

This was a wonderful day trip. We went in April 2014. It's a great way to get the full scope of a safari without extended days. There is lunch served which is a great buffet and then a full ride to see the animals. We booked via viator.com.

my time is SA was short but I happened to find myself with a day free after a mix-up. I enjoyed the experience and seeing the animals so close up I fell completely in love with the leopard and the peacock.

I had amazing hours of drive through Aquila was fantastic . The critiques about lions in small enclosures were exaggerated. I saw four of five of the big five and .I would definitely recommend this place to anyone, who is looking to explore South African

We booked a horse riding safari here and we're terribly disappointed. Having been promised the big 5, no one mentioned the lions, cheetah's and leopards were enclosed in small cages. On the ride we saw 5 zebra, 2 elephants and 3 giraffe all of whom looked as if they'd been strategically placed in order to call the horse ride a... More
