This was a magical way to start my trip in SA. Never been to Africa so seeing this place was quite an experience. You arrive at this place which is quite far away from the main city of Capetown and you immediately feel that the long drive was worthy. The infrastructure is interesting. Little huts all around with views to... More

We felt this was good value and appeared to be an ethical company with no frills but the accommodation was lovely for the price, I would say 4-star and there is a beautiful bar area with interesting books. It's difficult for Safaris not to be a bit 'contrived' especially being so close to Capetown but this was a good taster... More

We took the horseback day trip safari..and that was the only highlight. Unfortunately we never saw the elephants and giraffes ..and we were at a safe distance away from the animals we did manage to see, compared to the game drive ,which got close up to the animals. So I would definitely suggest a game drive if you want to... More

As a complete package Aquila Game Reserve is rather good. The rooms are well kept, the dining area and food are really good and I lightheartedly asked for Bobotie for dinner and it was served to me. Can't fault that. Reception was excellent. Our let down however was the drive. At the time of our visit only two vehicles were... More

It was pretty good. It was what we expected.....hardly the Kruger, but we enjoyed it. Got very close to the lions & Rhinos & the guide was excellent. Food was OK & staff helpful.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Aquila and our trips into the reservation to see the wild life that is there. The guides are extremely helpful and accommodating, particularly as we were interested in seeing some of the bird life that lives in or visits the reserve. also seeing the animals feeding early in the morning and before sunset... Had a very enjoyable overnight stay. Luxury lodge was just that although the very creaky floorboard were a little off putting in the night. Showering outside was an unusual experience - but in a good way. We did see The Big Five up close and were able to take wonderful photos. All the staff were attentive for the most part... More

We did the overnight stay which included an afternoon and early morning game drive ,lunch, dinner and breakfast. We thought the whole experience was first class, the food was very good and plentiful drinks fairly priced but most importantly the drives were great fun. Our guide Michael was really informative and we got to see all the animals. Yes it... More

Totally worth the money. The Safari Guides do their utmost to ensure you see as many animals as possible. We did the overnight stay and were totally happy with our experience. The food was great and staff friendly and helpful. We thought the accommodation was tops and would highly recommend this experience.
