Although not as tall as Table Mountain, one gets great views of Capetown. If the weather is not good to go up table Mountain, one can get great views from Signal Hill, and it's free to drive up. If you get there by 11:45 AM, you can get a free guide that explains the history and significance of Signal Hill.... More

I think during the day time, it is good to see the city from Table Mountain, but at night the view from Signal Hill is so beautiful, when I was visiting it was fullmoon, so view was spectacular, I could see the night city and mountains.

Free lookouts or a walk up the heights. In some ways the views are as good as from the top of table top mountain.

The greatest place to see the sunset. So many people and a wonderful atmosphere. Unfortunately the traffic/parking is a bit of a problem.

Nice view of the city and Bo Kaap neighborhood. This hike can be completed by climbing Lion's head (even better!)

Signal Hill - where the BOOM goes off for the noon gun to signal the noon of day at 12:00. Also a lovely view from the top on a clear day and there also I believe walks from there.

Cape Town is filled with places to enjoy great views. One place that I recommend visiting once is signal hill for a sunset viewing. The viewpoint looks out over the ocean from 350metres above sea level. There is limited parking so I advise going early to get a spot.

Whilst a fraction of the height of Table Mountain, Signal Hill affords stunning views of the city, the mountain and Ocean. We have been here many times and in some ways, it is better if the sea mist/fog has come in. When we drove up this time, there was extensive but shallow sea mist that did not really extend beyond...
