This is a lovely walk/hike with magnificent views of Capetown central, Camps Bay, Robben Island in the distance and a closer look at Table Mountain and the Cable Car. Sunsets can be stunning as well as a night walk but only if you are accompanied by someone who knows the walk. .For those not so fit you can do the... More

I did not walk up to Lions head, but was picked up from the hotel and dropped back. I did paragliding off of it. The down side ,it did not last long enough. I would like to have walked. It looks down over cape town and Camps Bay.

To see the most beautiful view of the whole of Cape Town, one MUST simply take a short walk onto Lions Head, the view will indeed take your breath away. It can get a bit rough walking the slopes so make sure you have the correct shoes on, but for the most part the walk is rather easy. Also, it... More

The hike up Lions head took roughly 45 minutes from top to bottom. Some parts are trickier than others but not too difficult and well worth it for the views. We did it during the day, wouldn't advise doing it at night as some parts are awkward, but ive heard the views are even better at sunset

...for not climbing lion's head when in the mother city. You'll be rewarded with the perfect view on city, coastline and table mountain. It's up to you if you choose the chain and iron steps supported or the regular route - but take water with you and wear your hiking boots!

You can see the Lion´s head from many places in Cape Town and it really looks like a Lions head if you really Think of it. You got good Pictures of it when you take the Cable car up to Table mountain.

Lion's Head is not a difficult hike but it is a very rewarding one - the views up there are spectacular. The start of the hike is not from the Signal Hill car park but from the road on the way up to Signal Hill. In summer I recommend you start early, say 6-7am and have breakfast up there -... More

I have been walking up lions head since I was a kid, and it is my absolute favourite for a number of reasons. Firstly the start is near the centre of Cape Town, so you don’t need to drive much to get there which makes it extremely convenient. Secondly it is not nearly as long as Table Mountain, which means... More

Be sure to go early in the morning to get the sunrise and avoid long queues in peak season (December/January).
