Great Climb

Quite a climb up rock ladders and stainless steel hand and footholds - don't look down! Can be windy at top. Leave by 0600 and climb the hard bit in the shade. Great views and... read more

Quite a climb up rock ladders and stainless steel hand and footholds - don't look down! Can be windy at top. Leave by 0600 and climb the hard bit in the shade. Great views and even better sense of achievement. Took us 45 mins to climb to summit

We hiked up one evening; starting at about 5pm. The hike is easy enough but some climbing is involved. We went off the track to find a cave looking out towards table mountain. This was well worth it. The view from the top is also incredible. It probably takes around 1.5 hours to the top of you move at a... More

Some of the climb was quite vertical and would not be appropriate for anyone with a fear of heights.

This is one of the best trails you can do in Cape Town. The views from here are unparalleled. It's a very challenging hike, quite a steep climb and may be a bad idea to attempt on a hot day. There are no rest places/shade. Bring lots of water and take it easy!

My husband and I spent a few awesome but WINDY days in Cape Town to kick off our honeymoon. Unfortunately, we happened to be there during bizarrely windy days, and Table Mountain was closed. Instead, our great guide from Ilios offered to take us to the top of Lion's Head, and it was a gorgeous alternative. It was a fun... More

I have to admit I couldn't go but my family made 2 trips to the top. Took them around 2.5 hours. Youngest child is 9 and he made it easily. Some of the photos from the top were wonderful.

I think it would be wonderful for hikers-on its own it cannot hold a candle to table mountain espcially when the clouds come in called the table cloth-but saw hikers and the trail is kind

I have been up Loins head many times and am always blown away by the view once you reach the top.this is most probably one of the easiest mountains to climb. you can walk to the base of the mountain and then there are chains to assist you to get to the top. A must for hikers and overseas visiters.

As the title suggests, we did not actually do the walk on this beautiful peak but the view of Lions Head from the window of our hotel in Bantry Bay was amazing. Nature's wonderful carving at its best.

For early birds wanting to see the sunrise, moonrise, sunset and moonset. Magnificent all round views, easy walk/climb. Breathtaking. Wear proper shoes and refrain from being a daredevil.
