Nice climb on quiet roads to get the heart rate going. Take your camera for the splendid views of Capetown and Table Mountain. This is free.

We scrambled up the mountain in about an hour and absolutely loved the last 35 minutes or so where it's real hand over hand climbing. Views were incredibly dramatic - obviously not as high as Table Mountain and less of a time commitment, but totally worth it for the views since the summit so narrow and really feels like a... More

Love going up first thing in the morning, having a thermus filled with coffee and enjoying the views once I get on top.

It's easier than you think. A moderate level of fitness is required for this climb, mostly a mild uphill before some chains/staples/ladders and a rock scramble at the end. The last bit is treacherous and falling over the cliff is very likely but it adds to the excitement. The views are as stunning as the top of table Mountain but... More

Excellent views... I had been told before going that the walk was really tough. I have to say, it was far easier than I expected. You do need to wear proper shoes, I did feel for the girls walking in heels and knee high boots, but it is very enjoyable.

If you're moderately fit - this is a great way to start your day off. Try get here at sunrise to catch the morning light falling over the city.

We went and started hiking up Lion's Head. You should start as early as you can because it gets hot and muggy. Go prepared - you can't buy water on the way! Take a picnic - the views are incredible! Unfortunately we didn't make it to the top because one in our group sprained her ankle on the way up!

This was one of the best hikes I have ever done. The spectacular view of cape town was breath taking. The view changes as you hike since you have chance to rotate the head of the mountain 360 degrees. The view from the top was just priceless.
