Lion's Head has been a winner since I arrived in Cape Town in 1980. I love going on the full moon hikes up Lion's Head because it's festive and fun and the view at night is achingly beautiful. Take a friend. Pack a picnic and put on your walking shoes. Take a torch too! Of course, you can also go... More

My arm was nearly twisted off but I finally agreed to join my friends for a hike up Lion'shead to see the sun set over the Atlantic. It was worth every huff and every puff up the mountain. The views are endless and if you reach high enough you can touch the stars. Must must must when you are in... More

Start early and give yourself at least an hr to get to the top. Bring a torch so that you find your way. If you are brave use the chain ladders but be very careful since people often fall and hurt themselves. Once at the top enjoy Cape Town

Excellent walking with changing perspective of views over Cape Town, and down the Atlantic seaboard. Always take the safest route (marked) and there are some chains in a few places. Plenty of water when climbing in summer.

Lions Head is a popular hike in Cape Town. I recommend it. It takes about an hour to go up and an hour to come down. the views from the top are amazing. The majority of the hike is quite straight forward, however as you get closer to the top you are faced with a few minor obstacles that have... More

Lion's Head Mountain is another spectacular view especially from the Table Mountain. As one ascend and descend the table mountain the view and greatness of creation is brought out. The scenery is very unforgettable. It speaks of the greatness of God the creator. He is simply the greatest of all artists.
