Its not a long hike but some tricky challenging bits. It is very rewarding though for its 360 degree views of Cape Town and the coast line. Beautiful. Make sure you push yourself all the way to the very top!

This mountain was acutally the first mountain I ever climbed. With that said, this can be climbed by everyone. The feeling when you're at the top is indescribable. I climbed it early morning and watched the sunrise from the top. It has some fun parts when you can climb on chains, but I heard that there is another way when... More

this place must be visited during an early morning sunrise or a late afternoon/evening when the lights in Cape Town are all on, it is a must see for all who want to admire the beauty of our mother city and by day or night.

I did not understand why it was called Lion's Head until I was standing and looking at it. It really looks like a proud lion guarding the city

this is the best hike - loved every minute of it. you are able to do it with a low fitness level which is even better. Go try it out!

Lion's Head hike was amazing. In the 2.5 months I stayed in Cape Town for Summer 2010, I hiked Lion's Head 5 or 6 times. It's a great hike, and you can hike up in an hour or so. The views of Cape Town from the top are just breath taking. I only wish I could do this again. If... More

I had to abandon my climb due to sun going down and i started late but this is absolutely brilliant, and the far reaching views of mountain, sea and city are just great! Would recommend anyone to take the difficult path to climb than taking stairs if you are able climber. There was paragliding company on top as well for... More

A relatively easy hike of between 1-1.5 hrs with spectacular views stretching across Cape Town. Best times are either for sunrise or sunset. One of the top free things to do in Cape Town. With sunsets bring a flashlight as it will be dark soon after.
