It's a couple of years since first doing this visit. I suffer from Vertigo and didn't fancy the Cable-car thing much! But since my Daughters were visiting.....I divided to 'face my fears'. Been back a few times now and it is such a glorious experience......and transcends expectations on each occassion. A friend, who was celebrating his Birthday, 12/08/14, went on... More

We used the cable car to come down from Table Mountain after hiking up, and in some ways I was more anxious about the car ride than the hike! The ride's unique selling point is that the inside cabin revolves as it descends or ascends, and so no matter where you are in the car you get a glorious view... More

Seemed very safe and secure. Platform rotates so everyone gets a 360 degree view. Good facilities for handicap access via a lift. Buy your tickets ahead of time. Waiting lines were not very long on a beautiful day.

Whilst i would still prefer to hike the table mountain- there are some 20 hike paths- this is the next best solution to people who are not too adventurous. Go early to avoid the 2 hr waiting queue....(the long wait can be a pain)...the view from top is mesmerizing. lions head and robben island in the back drop and the... More

This place has no words to describe it's beauty. Make sure to try some South African bubbly while up there.

A visit to Cape Town without visiting table Mountain is incomplete. This fo me is most certainly a wonder of the world. The cost is reasonable considering the most awesome view of Cape Town especially on a Bright summers evening. The walk is really gud. Restaurant and suvenior shop are pricy but gud considering resouces hae to be transported up.... More

We were lucky -- the clouds blew away by the time we arrived at the cable car. I'm not fond of cable cars - heights are not my thing - but this particular ride is nice because the car revolves & no one can "hog" the view windows. The view is best at the top, but the ride up &... More

This is a must for every visitor to Cape Town. The views from the top are fantastic, You need to book a trip early for if the weather changes and the Cape is famous for its winds the Cableway shuts down. Easy to get to. The tourist bus the red one I think will take you up to the station... More

I went up table mountain a while ago now but I remember the rotating wall around the outside, offering everyone a chance to look out the open window... and also eliminating your ability to hold on to anything as you rise up the side of the mountain. I highly recommend it and would do it again next time I'm back.
