Our trip was in May 2015 which is Autumn (or Fall) in South Africa. The park is luxurious and very well mantained. For travellers from North America there are many varieties of flora that we are not exposed to. There are muptiple well marked paths. The gift shop offers many options. A must to see the plants and feel the history of this beautiful part of Cape Town. It is not only tranquil but one can imagine the wild animals roaming this area many years ago and the bio-diversity of plant life has been preserved.

I suggest you take enough time out to visit Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. Its a lot of walking and you don't want to rush it. The gardens have a huge variety of plants and it is very well maintained. The walking paths are wide and lots of seating stops. Information pamphlets are available for sale at the ticket office. Amazing place to spend a whole day! The gardens are beautiful and go on for miles, with the addition of the Treetop Walkway last year which gives fabulous views of the mountains and gardens. Moyo restaurant seals the day with amazing food and authentic african theme. The local women paint your face so delicately and for no charge you feel... More

The Cape is one of the most unique floristic zones in the world and this garden is justifiably famous as highlighting that unique flora. I have wanted to visit this garden my entire life and it did not disappoint.

The gardens are well worth the visit..there is a garden with plants that give medical usefulness. There is sculptures through out the gardens. Plan on a couple hours to go through. Go for a nice stroll and relax on the grass.

This is a great place for a walk, picnic, bird watching, or viewing the plants. Very nice collection and layout. An easy stop to spend up to several hours.
