Lovely place to visit with plenty to see. Restaurant good quality with plenty choice of food and drink. The blue hop on/off bus takes you right to the gate and there is one every 15-20 minutes. I wish I had had more time to explore. definitely worthwhile to visit

One should never get tired of visiting these amazing gardens, begun so many years ago, what a legacy for us all. I love the gardens & mountain views, the restaurants and the concerts on the lawns in summer. But most of all I enjoy the Art exhibitions that are held in the large hall near the restaurant, especially ones in... More

It is important to schedule a couple of hours in your itinirary to visit Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. Pack a picnic or enjoy a delicious lunch at the restaurant. No need to pack water. There are plenty of natural fountains and brooks to drink cold water, fresh from Table Mountain. There are so many things to do and see in this... More

Did this visit on the Blue bus tour but after having had several days of intense heat, typically, the weather chose to break for my visit! Still managed to walk round most of the Gardens and take in the surrounding scenery. Cafes are excellent as in the well stocked main shop.

Wonderfully laid out gardens with something to see for everyone (including the blind) yes you read correctly, they have a path specially laid out for the vision impaired visitor, with Braille plaques all along with the encouragement to smell and feel these plants too. The younger visitor will strangely enough not be bored here as there are rolling lawns for... More

The gardens, showcasing the indigenous flora of the Western Cape and Southern Africa, are nestled under the southern part of Table Mountain. They are spectacularly beautiful, superbly manicured and managed and offer a serene place to relax, walk, photograph plants and birds, enjoy good quality meals in the restaurants or take a picnic on the lawns. In summer Sunday evening... More

Whatever you do in Cape Town visit Kirstenbosch! Vast botanical garden on the slopes of Table Mountain near the Constantia wine country. In the Spring it is a feast for the eyes. On site restaurant is surprisingly good for an eatery at a tourist spot although the service is painstakingly old South African - unfocussedd and ever so slow!

It was raining when we visited, and the flowers were not in full bloom. As a result, our visit was something of a downer. We suspect that on a clear day with the flowere in bloom, the Gardens would be more than average.

Beautiful landscaped gardens and must be spectacular when in bloom. March is the not the best time to visit. Other areas to visit in Cape Town at that time of year. The gift shop is excellent. Check the garden's calendar for blooming schedule before visiting.

I have visited the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens several times - recent visit was in second week of April 2014 - I am always fascinated by the serenity and tranquility of the Garden. The plants, trees, lake and birds reminds me of the biblical garden of Eden. Most times I just lie on a blanket, and get in tune with... More
