We landed from the UK at about 8:30am and checked into our hotel. We had hired a car so decided to drive to Table Mountain because it was a clear day and I know how quickly the clouds can roll in over the mountain. After using the cable car up Table Mountain, we looked for attractions nearby and found Kirstenbosch... More

We came on the Hop-on/off bus fairly early and spent about 4 hours here, including lunch - not enough time to see all of the grounds when walking, but I think we managed a large proportion. Being early November, it was fairly warm but not too hot; in any case, best to carry water. The place is beautifully laid out,... More

When in Cape Town, this is a must see. Massive rolling gardens, well maintained. Often hosts live music especially on Sundays. The canopy walkway (boomslang) is a must see, with a spectacular view if Cape Town. Any time of the year is a good time to visit, but if you want to see the fynbos in bloom, best time to... More

This is an excellent spot to go with a picnic basket, blanket, some great wine and good company. Kids can play and once you have finished your food & wine you can walk it off. Tuesdays senior citizens can go in for free, not applicable on Public Holidays.

Wow...What a relaxing day. We arrived on the Hop On/Off tour bus (also a great experience) had a lovely breakfast then walked the gardens for a couple of hours. The gardens are so clean and well kept and the canopy walk was beautiful. We particularly enjoyed the stone statues and the fact the trees and flowers were so well marked.... More

Under the shadow of the mountain, these gardens have everything, wide grassy spaces, big trees, cafe and restaurant and different kinds of plants and grasses. Concerts in the summer evenings too.

One of us was recovering from a broken hip, so we opted for the tram tour. Great choice, as it turned out, because the gardens are so extensive that it would have take all day to visit the huge territory that covered in just an hour -- all the way up to the top with wide distant views. Guide was... More

This is a beautiful garden and will need more than one visit to see it all on foot. Really nice restaurant/tea room near Gate 2. Go early in the morning before the sun gets too strong.
