Southern Suburbs is a great area to stay as it's close to Cape Town and also the Winelands. Newlands village has some excellent restaurants and coffee shops. Cavendish Square is close by for those who like shopping.

The Southern Suburbs of Cape Town are easy to enjoy. They're safe but do need a bit of driving to enjoy. Heart of the place is Newlands...brewery, Rugby, Cricket, Cavendish shopping and lots of small coffee shops and restaurants. It's a nice neighbourhood. Moving further afield there's Rondebosch...but nothing much going on there...and Bishopscourt and Constantia. Bishopscourt is the home... More

My favourite areas in the south is Newlands and Rondebosch. I love the old buildings and giant trees. Being only 7km from the CBD, Rondebosch gives off a relaxing vibe yet is close to the city. Known for UCT and fantastic schools. Property very expensive and sought after.

the southern suburbs are originally little villages along the main road from cape town to muizenburg, by the false bay. it's an exciting road to drive in a slow pace. each suburb is different and each main road has something new to offer a visitor. if you are on a bicycle is a delight to ride this way to false... i have lived in the Southern Suburbs for just over ten years and simply love it. Firstly, the weather is the best as there is the least amount of wind in Cape Town and if you live in Cape Town you would know how important this is. The suburbs is less than 10 minutes from Cape Town central. We are... More

I have lived in the southern Suburbs for over 10 years now and have always loved it. There is so much to see and all the main shops are near as well as a lovely beach. Also some very nice wine estates and golf courses.

Going to the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, can be a whole day affair, there is so much to choose from! Sandy Beaches, Nature Reserves, Wine Farms, Stadiums (sport) harbours, 2 oceans, penguins, boat rides, Naval stations and the list goes on! You need at least a weekend to see just a fraction of the "things to do" of Cape... More

I was brought up and went to school in the southern suburbs. Close to the sea on Indian and Atlantic sides, daily view of mountains, great bus and train connections and very friendly people
