During the first week in March my wife and I were in Cape Town again. We were a little apprehensive but were keen o visiting Sandy Bay again. A call to SANParks informed us that their officials did routine patrols daily, and there was no recurrence of our incident. We none the less took the precaution of not taking any... More

My wife and I visited SB in March this year. We were held up by a knife wielding young man and robbed. The police caught him 2 days later, but we are hesitant to go there again. Can anyone inform us whether robbers are still active in the area. It is a beautiful beach and we would not like to... More

This is a beautiful beach. Go during busy time as it is quite secluded. Would advise that you take the route from Lundadno and not from Hout Bay. The walk from Lundadno is flat while the route from Hout Bay is quite steep and a difficult walk. On the beach people mind their own business. Nobody has an issue whether... More

I fully agree this could be a wonderful beach, it is in fact a lovely beach, yes the water is freezing ice cold and not many people can actually swim as a result but the setting is lovely for a picnic if not a swim. For me I could only stay in the water for literally three seconds before turning... More

when i first found sandy bay i was so happy. finally a beach i could call nature. i love coming here for the quietness and peace. but remember this is also an optional beach so if you are prude it might not be your best place to visit. it used to be one of the few beaches with no restriction... Great beautiful gay nude beach. The water is clean and clear and the sand soft and warm. I bit of a walk but truly beautiful and easy. Felt safe and had no trouble. Saw whales. There are snacks and drinks available in the parking lot.

We went down a couple of weeks ago and were glad that we did. The wind was moderate. Strong wind had prevented previous attempts when we stayed at the mini-beach and rocks and noted lurkers around. :( This time, there were about 4 straight couples, about 4 male couples and the odd single male. We discovered we had gone to... More

Forty minuit drive towards Llandudno beach then you see the sign to sandy bay. Down the hull, find the small parking lot, and buy your water. Walk "beyond" the sign that says (No nudity beyond this point" 15 minuit trail to reach the beach, which I think is fine since gives a sense of seclusion. Initially rocky then sandy. Beautiful...
