when i first found sandy bay i was so happy. finally a beach i could call nature. i love coming here for the quietness and peace. but remember this is also an optional beach so if you are prude it might not be your best place to visit. it used to be one of the few beaches with no restriction... Great beautiful gay nude beach. The water is clean and clear and the sand soft and warm. I bit of a walk but truly beautiful and easy. Felt safe and had no trouble. Saw whales. There are snacks and drinks available in the parking lot.

We went down a couple of weeks ago and were glad that we did. The wind was moderate. Strong wind had prevented previous attempts when we stayed at the mini-beach and rocks and noted lurkers around. :( This time, there were about 4 straight couples, about 4 male couples and the odd single male. We discovered we had gone to... More

Forty minuit drive towards Llandudno beach then you see the sign to sandy bay. Down the hull, find the small parking lot, and buy your water. Walk "beyond" the sign that says (No nudity beyond this point" 15 minuit trail to reach the beach, which I think is fine since gives a sense of seclusion. Initially rocky then sandy. Beautiful... Have been in Cape Town the last 8 days and frequented sandy back 4 times! Was the best experience and escape from the crowds at camps bay, plus with the added liberation of being in the buff. The walk although long, seems to no longer matter once you absorb the spectacular views and environment. It takes about 10-15mins walk and... More

Visited Sandy Bay yesterday as we wanted to make the most of our last couple of days in Cape Town and we were very glad that we did. Very easy to find and as we are slightly out of season parking was easy. The sceanic walk along the path took about 15 minutes and passed by very quickly as we... More

Such a beautiful "beach". It's very rocky but so so beautiful and peaceful. The most amazing blue ocean (cold) surrounded by mountains. Just walk out and sit on the rocks. People into architecture will enjoy looking at the house that hangs over the hill.

Beautiful scenery on the way to the beach. Was a terribly long walk that got a bit awkward with sand and stones flipping into my sandals the whole time. Eventually, without knowing how far we were from the actual beach, we eventually turned around and took a long walk back to the car. Some signage about distance may prove helpful.
