MC is a marvellous guide to his home township. He is professional, organised, and above all friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. He sends clear instructions about where to meet in advance (just off the N2) and you follow him into the township to your starting point. Most of the tour is on foot, it really is the only way to even... More

As others have said, it's a humbling experience to see how the majority of the South African population live in these townships, as well as to learn about how they are doing their very best to improve things. We visited Langa with African Eagle on a half day tour, with 6 other people, and thought it well organised and very... More

We took a guided trip with Thompson Africa to the township. It was a tour that will always stay with me. The level of poverty and dreadful living conditions was striking, but the welcome and warmth of everyone we met gave some hope that with ongoing investment in infrastructure and education will have some impact at some stage in the... What a time of mixed emotions during this tour. It was heart-wrenching, yet humbling and somewhat inspiring at the same time as result of our wonderful tour guide. It was interesting and educational and certainly put many things into perspective regarding current political situations. Our guide was a true inspiration for her tenacity and positive approach to life. The experience... More

Very good. A visit to Lange will show a different world than the one many people would expect. The friendliness of the people was amazing although live for them is not easy.

Thabang Titotti is the owner operator of e.zizwe Travel & Tours, he arrived right on time in his 7 seater Volkswagon Kombi van, it was very clean and well appointed and had the mandatory a/c. There was one other couple both from Germany and they as well as Thabang spoke excellent English. We first drove along the coast passing through... More

After experiencing extraordinary wildlife in Kruger and the joy of the waterpark at Sun City, we wanted our kids to understand that there is another side to life in South Africa. We booked a tour with MC, who lives in the township, and he spent nearly 5 hours walking around with us. Despite our kids being fairly youmg (5, 9... More

A very nice tour booked with townshiptourscapetown.co.za. The guide books us through a big part of the township and it was interesting to learn about the culture and way of living - it was quite different from what we assumed and very positive!
