This was one of the highlights in Cape Town. MC from ProTeams SA is an incredible guide and person. He is from the Langa community and knows the ins and outs of the people and place. Highly highly recommend this experience!

This tour is an education and any visitor to Cape Town should go. The brutal realities of Apartheid are made clear in an objective, unemotional way. The way the people in the township live is a revelation yet there was no sense of them feeling patronised. The women care for the children in daunting circumstances yet they are cheerful and... I made the arrangements for the tour before arriving in Cape Town based on reviews in Trip Advisor . I was picked up at my hotel at the designated time and then taken on a tour of Langa Township. I saw how people are living , many in very poor conditions in basic and crowded conditions. The guide lives in... More

The story of apartheid in South Africa is more than I can describe....what the people of SA lived through, did to each other, and the brutality of it all. It is incredibly amazing to learn the history, as we were pretty sheltered from knowing the reality of what was going on during those years. Sobering, sad, and amazing all at... More

We had very mixed feelings about going, but we're glad we did. Talking to locals about their lives and hopes for the future was incredible . My husband drank 'home brew' with the locals! Do try to book with a'community' organisation rather than a standard travel agent so that more money goes to the township. Do also take biscuits, sweets or... More

Although I felt that the tour would be an imposition, an intrusion into the lives of the very poor of Cape Town, it wasn't the case: the people who we met actually wanted us to see the improvements, initiatives and progress that are being made in this township. I think that they wanted to demonstrate the energy that is there... More

Before leaving, I was fortunate enough to see a different side of Cape Town--different from the beautiful, attractive, and tourist friendly city I had been experiencing for the past three days. We decided that it would be a good idea to embark on a township tour, one that would take us to the poorer section of the city and were,... More

We did a township tour organised by our guesthouse (4 Rosmead). Extremely informative and helpful if like us you grew up in the 80s hearing about apartheid. Felt very safe, no problems at all in fact safer than some parts of London! Part of the payment for the trip goes to help the township.
