If the wind is howling in Cape Town, 4th beach is usually sheltered and provides the best option. Parking can be tricky in summer if you getting down after 11am.

Meeting place of the world. Excellent reataurants and cafe's, beautiful white beach, adorned by stunning, bikini clad, sun-worshipping bodies. The wide-stretched ocean and overall breathtaking picture of nature

Dislike the crowds and no parking. Dislike the freezing cold water. LOVE the beach, LOVE the ocean!

Four pristine beaches in a row, and protected from the Cape wind. Clifton is best for bat and balls, sun tanning, sunset and picnics.

With the addition of the recently grounded fishing trawler, this is a lovely beach to visit (not to swim unless you are a polar bear!). Great white sand and azure sea with surrounding bars and coffee shops - try it!

Clifton Beach was closed when I visited as a ship had runaground onto the sands and it took almost a week for it to be towed off only once stormy seas arrived and a very high tide - the beach area looked beautiful though

I have spent many a summers day at these beaches and they are by far my favorites! Late in the evening it is great to just sit and relax with a glass of wine and look out over the ocean, the sunsets are amazing! During the day the beach is packed and you meet many new people as everyone is... More
