Through displays ranging from the small and almost fantastical Knysna seahorses, to large ragged-tooth sharks, the Aquarium holds wondrous discoveries around every corner. Be mesmerised by the swaying of the giant kelp in the aptly named Ocean Basket Kelp Forest Exhibit- one of only a handful living kelp forest displays in the world. Or come face-to-face with giant spider grabs and have an adventurous tactile experience at the Touch Pool. Be sure to visit the I&J Predator Exhibit, with its 11m long window, to view large ragged tooth sharks and shoals of silvery fish. Qualified divers can also make use of the opportunity to dive with the sharks in the I&J Predator Exhibit and the shimmering fish in the Ocean Basket Kelp Forest Exhibit. « less

What a great attraction in Cape Town. We had an absolute great time. The staff were super friendly, informative and helpful. I would definitely visit next time I am in Cape Town.

What a great way do enjoy a rainy day in Cape Town. A very informative aquarium. Make sure that you see the penguin feeding session. It seems that the african penguins go out of their way to pose for photos :)

Easy access, fantastic exhibits and the staff are brilliant, always willing to take the time to talk to the kids and share their knowledge, the "touch talk" is always a highlight, as is the penguin walk and the seals.

Overall, this is a small acquarium. They do specialize in native flora and fauna that you may not see on other aquariums. They also have a mammoth reed display, one of three in the world.

Impressive .... Love the shark tank. Make an effort to visit during feeding time. If you are from overseas...ensure that you ask the staff to point out the snoek!

I went last winter because the cable car was closed due to the weather conditions. It was really nice going back there after 10 years to see the sea life. Its very educational when up you take along kids. Unfortunatley I dont have any. The Pengiuns are the cutest!

We ended up heading to the Aquarium after our Robben Island tour was cancelled. It was very interesting. I liked the interactive posts, the funny photos areas and the Penguin feedings. I reckon it would be a great kids activity too. Spent about 1.5 hours there

World class and fun for families with kids and adults alike. Although pricy for locals, the aquarium is a must see at least once.

The Indian Ocean area of the aquarium was extremely tiny. You could easily go through the entire aquarium in an hour. There were some interesting things to see, but overall, I was not very impressed with the place. Good on a rainy day, but not nearly as exciting as I'd hoped.

I visited the aquarium with a friend of mine's little boy, as this was time to kill before Mom emerged from local hairdresser looking all relaxed and glam. The aquarium is a good way to while away time with the youngsters and the adults can learn into the bargain ! a wonderful introduction to the sea which inhabits more than... More
