Each time we drive through the town of Muizenberg, my eyes get stuck on the beautiful train station clock. Although the colored wood houses look beautiful, the beach is just too crowded to dare go there. A train track runs right next to the beach and that is way cool indeed. Of course the sound of the train won't contribute... More

Popped in for a quick surf: water was warm, surfers quite friendly and great waves to learn on. Not sure if the town has much else to offer if you're not a surfer - beach was lovely but very crowded and didn't spot many places I would have gone out of my way to explore. The kind of place to... Pleasant seaside town which fell into a bit of disrepair in the 1980s & 1990s. Squatters moved in & lots of the properties were deserted & subsequently damaged. But like everything else Muizenberg is now on the "up" with lots of new restaurants & coffee shops as well as a Fri organic market popping up. Give it 5 to 10... More

Every chance I get I am at the berg. It's a great surfers spot and has recently become a great dining place too

Muizemberg beach is on the east coast of South Africa . It is very popular with surfers and there are numerous surf schools in the area . There are also numerous restaurants in the area looking over the beach front . The beach is best visited when the South Easterly wind is not blowing or in the winter months when... More

A huge long wide beach of white sand with the iconic colourful beach shacks. Lots of space to swim and surf (if you dare the sharks!). Lots of surf lessons available. Restaurants and shops a short walk - parking can be crowded. Kids play area, pool and grassy area behind the pavilion.

Endless beach and huge crowd enjoying and frolicking in the powdery sand and enjoying drinks and food from the various range of restaurants that the beach claims for itself. The reach here you make to take a bit of detour but are totally worth the experience. Along with the many restaurants and cafes they have surfing coaches that gives you... More

Gary's surf school is great. Thinks of safety first and promises to teach you to learn to surf in one lesson. Would recommend to all

We drove from cape town through Chapman's peak (and this is the route i would suggest to go to muizenberg from cape town , even though its a bit of a diversion). When we reached near the city, we could only see surfers breaking the waves near the shore. The colourfull shacks presented a good backdrop to the whole place.... More
