The drive to Hout Bay from whichever of the roads that lead to it is stunning. One has the best of both worlds with the magnificent mountain ranges on one side and the sea to the other. The dock has retained its character and hopefully it will stay that way. This is still my all time favourite venue to enjoy... More

Travel here from the main Myciti bus station at the Civic Center where you can purchase your travel card for 35 rand and top it up with say 50 rand. The journey along the coast on the 108 via Camps Bay takes about three quarters of an hour and costs less than 10 rand. The 109 bus only goes into... More

Drive along the stunning Atlantic Coast Road and you come to Hout bay. Its a very pretty fishing village, with a lovely beach and harbour. There are a few interesting shops and a really nice elevated restaurant where you can spend time just enjoying a spot of lunch or just watch the world go by. A great place to people... More

We visited Hout Bay and immediately wanted to relocate there...Stunning views, laid back way of life...Every picture is beautiful. The food at the upstairs restaurant is brilliant, try the lobster and seafood platter for R500 or so, worth every cent! Also very reasonable prices curio and gift shops

Hout Bay has a nice rustic feel. The trip to Seal Island was great. Our group took a small boat through some very choppy water. The boat ride was rocky but fun. The trip to Seal Island around 15-20 minutes. Seal Island had hundreds of seals and the boat gets fairly close. Lots of picture taking opportunities.

This is a HARD LUCK story turned into a miracle! We went to Hout Bay which has become pretty dirty, rubbish from the townships etc. I saw an advert for the birdpark and we spent several hours there. I do not want to spoil it for any traveller It is a great Park for all unwanted Bird Pets and Monkeys,... More
