Nice stop for souvenirs and to see the ocean. Prices for "stuff" comparable to the Green Market. If you don't have time to visit the green market this will do in a pinch. Make sure you negotiate.

Pretty harbour where you can sit on the pier and watch the fisherman feed the seals, do some souvenir shopping, or get some seafood. Beautiful scenic drive to get to Hout Bay along Chapmans Drive, or stop there as part of the Red Bus Tour blue line

Took the Hout Bay boat trip to Seal Island with a group of Vantage World Travel. It was a kick. Calm water in the bay, and some dicey waves before entering the protected water behind the island. Lots of seals, beautiful scenery, nice weather. I recommend this if you're on the west side of the Cape Peninsula. Across the peninsula... More

Nice little fishing village, with the main highlight being the opportunity to take a boat out to see a nearby island with plenty of seals. Plenty of restaurants nearby, so a good spot for a couple of hours. Hout Bay is one of the stops on the sightseeing tour buses around town, so nice and easy to get to.

Hout bay has a lovely beach area near the harbour with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. Go for a day to the beach, take in the beauty of the landscape and go for a lovely fish meal at the Mariners Warf restaurant. Try avoid windy days as it'll blow you off your feet.

A visit to the busy Hout Bay harbor and the Fisherman's Wharf Restaurant brought back many good memories of my childhood and the dingy hanging in the foyer helped my wife to see what we had gone to sea in all those many years ago, The food was good. The beer better! And we bought some fantastic mementoes to take... More

Safe, short boat trip to see sea lions resting on boulders in the middle of the sea. You gave a range of boats at different prices. A few tame sea lions jump onto the peer to pose for a pic. Beautiful creatures

I visit Hout Bay at least once a month. Even if it's just to sit on the side of Chapmans Peak to watch time go by. Hout Bay is the start (or finish if you like) of the magnificent Chapman's Peak drive. Plenty of places to eat and also make a turn at the Harbor. Go and see how they... More

Hout Bay, for me is a place worth going to for the day. With sea food take out or sit down and boat trips for sea lovers. Worth spending on
