The republic of hout bay as they refer to themseves is a great place to visit for lunch and a walk in the fresh air. It can also be done in conjunction with chapmans peak drive. There are a few take aways as well as a restaurant. I recommend the fish and chips however. Nice and fresh as the fishing... More

This was another beautiful sight. Though the weather was rather cool, being out at the Bay was just so wonderful.

It deserves the visit. It's on the blue line Hop on Hop off. You can plan the visit at lunch time to enjoy a sea food meal (But rather expensive and touristic price ; almost double price cape town). the views and stroll along the sea is worth it. You will see some seals around.

I loved my day at Hout Bay! I love seals and Seal Island (yes, that is an actual place!) is not far from here. So we got fresh fish and chips at Mariner's Wharf which was great. Later, I heard there were also better local places to get amazing food. Then, we went to Seal Island. It's an amazing place... More

What I love about this place is close to the sea. I love swiming but I can't, I love the smell of the water. when I'm in that area I just really don't want to go especially in summer

A must see when in Cape Town and going on a peninsula tour. Like most of the areas other natural attractions, Hout's Bay is simply beautiful (and windy).

It very much depends what you are going to Hout Bay for as to if you will appreciate it. In terms of scenic beauty and tourist attractions it is great. The stunning Chapman's Peak Drive (when its open), Seal Island, the dramatic Sentinel Mountain and the Weekend Markets are well worth a visit. The beach however is nothing to rave... More
