We decided to stop by the winery from the hop-on, hop-off bus tour and were blown away. The views were just gorgeous to be so close to the city. The history was very interesting. The wine tasting was a great deal - very low price for very generous pours of 5 of the wines. Very peaceful, and fun to be... More

Food and ambience great. Service slow so we had to cancel dessert but they said it was because they had a new chef. Wine excellent and old house worth a visit

Very historic being the oldest wine estate in the Cape. In addition, the grounds are vast and very well kept. There are two restaurants on the property being Jonkershuis and Simon's. The cellar tour and tasting takes about 60 minutes. In addition there is a museum and an art galley.

Loved Groot Constantia. The food at the lunch restaurant was great, service top notch. The wines are some of my favorites and the gardens were great at keeping the kids happy too

We had a really good visit to Groot Constantia. We did a tour of the cellar and enjoyed a wine tasting afterwards. The tasting was great, we got to taste 6 different wines. However the lady showing us around could be a bit more enthusiastic and less robotic. But they do have really excellent wines and a walk in the... More

The Estate is just lovely and still holds onto the old world charm. We did a wine tour and tasting, which was very informative, but the guide had to leave at the end of the tour when we still had some questions. I would have loved to have spent some more time here.

Use the City Sightseeing buses and relax in a different world just outside Cape Town. We went for the wine tasting with four wines and each with a small bar of chocolate - a new experience. We have fallen in love with South African wines and especially those from Groot Constantia, just a pity you cannot carry them home in... More
