Organised this tour at the last minute but were still able to make it out to Langa on New Year's eve for our tour. We drove ourselves out and had some reservations about safety but didn't need to worry. We were met at the edge of Langa by our guide, Nathi, and directed to the secure car park. then in... More

We were picked up on the meeting point and led by Nathi, who has spent his life growing up in Langa. We had the opportunity to visit few local accommodations and had very interesting and knowledgable conversations with the people from the area. There was something in the air full of friendliness, heartfulness and a profound sense of community that... More

My daughter of 15 years old and I went on this tour and all my South African friends said I was crazy to go alone. But NOT once did we feel unsafe or intimidated in any way. We were met on the outskirts of the township by Gladstone, and drove to the visitors centre where a local man looked after... More

I can't say enough about my time in South Africa! I will say this tour is a must do for anyone that seeks to learn more about the history of the townships. Langa is Cape Town's oldest township and is still home to a very close-knit community outside of the city limits. It was heartbreaking to see the conditions a... More

Our guide was Chippa who was excellent and who picked us up at our hotel. Chippa was friendly and informative and showed us all sides of Langa from the economic and social development including good roads, a newly built theatre and workshop to improved social housing and private dwellings as inhabitants progressed up the ladder so to speak any buying... having been a frequent visitor to cape town we had been looking forward to a private guided tour in this township. the contents of the tour were excellent but sadly our guide seemed bored showing little interest in our questions and walked at least 5 meters in front of us . shame

Thank you for the review. Your feed-back means a lot to us. In this way we are able to improve. The whole team have talked about the issue together and we all agree that even if one of us have a bad day, it should not effect our tours in any way. We are terribly sorry that it did. I... More

Cape Town is a spectacular city - wonderful harbour, the imposing Table Mountain, the reveared Robben Island and the closeby incredible coastal scenery down to the cape. But all this is eclipsed by the reality of the Townships and our very personal visit to Langa Township with Sivewe Township Tours. In fact I put it right at the top of... More

We have visited Langa during our one week stay in Capetown and the tour has helped a lot to understand more about Southafrika and its people. The reservation worked easily via phone and eMail, the meetingpoint was no problem to find. Our guide Nathi led us through very different parts of Langa, he was full of information and background stories... More

We booked with Sivewe Township Tours and our guide was Chippa. Chippa is living in the township and knows his way around. He was such a great guide and could answer all our questions about the rules of the Township. We could visit all different parts of the Township, the poorer areas where the houses are made of nothing and... More

We toured Langa township with local resident, Gladstone, and found it very interesting - his knowledge started to answer many of the questions we'd been storing up since arriving in SA and he was willing to talk about most things. We saw a range of living conditions from the tin sheds through to the new builds and the converted dormitories... More
