Table Mountain is on my list of "must do's" in Cape Town. You can make an afternoon out of it and go for a hike--but be mindful that this is not a leisurely stroll. Some of the trails are quite arduous and take some time to complete. However, if you are not up for a hike or don't have the... More

Nice less than 2 hour hike. Choose your route wisely, some routes are around 3 hours long. Excellent views from the top!

Stopped in here for a cuppa tea after walking around the top of Table Mountain and it provided a nice warm place for a drink/snack. I had tea which was ok, I wish in retrospect I had a latte as both they and the hot chocolate looked really good! We wanted to buy caramel popcorn but they were sold out... More

The cable car ride was quick and the view from the mountain is great. There are some easy paths to walk. You don't need a lot of time and you can get here in 10 minutes from just about anywhere in Cape Town. Get your tickets at the hotel so you don't have to wait in line. There is an... More

This is a must for all travellers to Cape Town. We went up by the cableway which was great fun. There are a number of walks at the top and we walked the longest which was a round trip of about 2 hours with spectacular views

Everything about the park is fantastic, views, flora, hiking and the very unknown lodge on the top of the mountain, however the inconsistent running of the cable car does make going to the top a gamble for older visitors, whilst my wife and I hiked up and down my parents were unable to join us as the cable car was... On a very gray winter's day, loved the cormorant rookery near the Point, where Cape seals also haul themselves up onto the rocks, and seeing two elands browsing in the fynbos at a rather close distance. Steep climb up to the lighthouse was very worthwhile for the vistas, the sunbirds in the bushes and the occasional opening in the clouds... More

If you are staying for even just a few days in Cape Town make sure you put Table Mountain on your list. A short cab or shuttle ride from most hotels, and the ride up is worth the trip. The cable car spins while you are in it so everyone has the same 360' view! The shop and restaurant at... More
