The thatched chalet we stayed in was a delight. There was a large separate kitchen area with all that you would need but you must take all your food supplies in with you as there is no on site food shop or restaurant.. The bedroom was large and the bathroom more than adequate. Outside the chalet there was a covered... More

BE SURE TO TAKE TIME OUT TO STOP OVER AT THIS LOVELY NATIONAL PARK. MOKALA. It is a Parks Board site. The little "cottages" are basic and simple, but more than adequate. We stayed at the Lillydaleside of the Park. The "cottages" overlook the river and the Park. It stocks wild life like Roan, Sable, Oryx and Eland Antelope that... More

Mokala National Park near Kimberley is definitely worth a visit! Reception staff are friendly and helpful. We saw a variety of animals. This was our fourth visit to the park and this time we spotted a rhino as well! Enjoyed a lovely picnic under the thorn tree. The museum is definitely worth a visit as well. The park is well... What a beautiful reserve. Every staff member was helpful and friendly and we felt welcome from the time we entered the gate. Our chalet was clean, comfortable and well equipped. We had breakfast in the restaurant which was great and good value for money. The greatest thing however is the park itself. We saw so much and such a variety... More

I recommend to book both Rest Camps (Mosu Lodge and Lilydale Camp) because wildlife is differs from north to south. Mosu has an illuminated waterhole where we saw Kudu, Waterbuck, Eland, Red Hartebeest and Springbok. The chalets at Lilydale have spectacular views over the Riet River, but the restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch only. Dinner at the Mosu... More

Although the road from the highway to the lodge is in a terrible state for an ordinary vehicle, the accomodation and restaurant more than compensated for the drive of 27 kilometers. On our overnight stay we were very lucky to see a lot of animals at the water whole in front of the lodge. The food and service at the... More

Spent a wonderful weekend at the Mokala Treehouse 15-17 August 2014. The treehouse is brilliant and secluded (halfway between Mosu and Lillydale and 1.0km from the nearest park road). The treehouse offers basic necessities including gas powered fridge, showers, stove and solar lights. (leave the hairdryer at home, no electricity). The tree house is not fenced off like the lodges... More

Now it says you don't need a 4x4 however which is true if you stay in the south part of the camp however we were completely bottoming out in the north and had to turn around. Mosu Lodge is AMAZING! Excellent value, the restaurant is wonderful. Everything was super clean and well looked after. The waterhole was lite up and... More
