Spent a wonderful weekend at the Mokala Treehouse 15-17 August 2014. The treehouse is brilliant and secluded (halfway between Mosu and Lillydale and 1.0km from the nearest park road). The treehouse offers basic necessities including gas powered fridge, showers, stove and solar lights. (leave the hairdryer at home, no electricity). The tree house is not fenced off like the lodges... More

Now it says you don't need a 4x4 however which is true if you stay in the south part of the camp however we were completely bottoming out in the north and had to turn around. Mosu Lodge is AMAZING! Excellent value, the restaurant is wonderful. Everything was super clean and well looked after. The waterhole was lite up and... More

Mokala NP is relatively new, being a combination of some smaller parks and some adjacent farms that were purchased and consolidated. It is used as a breeding location for Buffalo, Sable & other animals. Although there are no predators it has a wealth of life. Not being high profile is a benefit as it keeps the visitor levels down improving... More

We really enjoy going to Mokala National Park. It doesn't have any scenery to speak off but the wildlife is very good and easy to spot. There are no predators but plenty of everything else including the rare tsessbe. The only down side to Mokala is that there is no shop, not even for basics such as bread and milk... More

A trip to this little San Park is a great way to spend a day. Plenty of buck to see. The park is well kept, and ablutions are clean. Good picnic spot with braai facilities, picnic tables and nice shade. Park roads are generally good. Road around Lillyvale (fly fishing area) are 4x4 only. No notice of this given until... More

Mokala is Sanparks at their best! The accommodation (we stayed at Mosu Base Camp), was spacious, and very well appointed. The Reception staff ware helpful and welcoming. The Restaurant is very high quality, and the staff and cooks are really brilliant. The park is well stocked with wildlife and the roads are, on the whole, easy to drive. The only... More

We stayed at the luxury bungalow in Mosu Lodge for 7 nights after which we stayed in the Lilydale camp bungalows for 2 nights. The luxury bungalow at Mosu was fantastic. We had a private view of the waterhole and saw an abundance of animals from our stoep everyday, including warthogs (with babies!), jackal, buffalo, tortoise, and any species of... More

We camped at their lovely waterhole campsite and what a great experience this was. Each site has it's own private ablution block and mini-kitchen. I think this is a first for Sanparks and hope this style will continue into the other parks. The park itself is the newest in the Sanparks range. It is home to some of the more... More

We booked at Mosul lodge for one night and we liked it so much that we booked a second night. Our hut did not have a kitchen, but was very nice. Very comfortable beds and beautiful African style decor. Thatched roof cottages. Mosul lodge is not large, only 15 units of different sizes, but it is very nice. There is... More

the visit was very enjoyable. we didn't experience any problems. the watering hole at daybreak is recommended for seeing lots of animals. You are not allowed to drive after sunset of before sunrise.
