3 days, 2 nights of excellent value for money, forming our halfway stop between St Francis Bay and Jhb. 2 bedroom unit in-front of the waterhole, close to an excellent dining facility with local dishes to please the whole family. The guided game drive focused on looking for Rhino at our request. Informative, fun and great weather for April. Our... More

While on a road trip to the western cape, we decided to stay at Mokala National Park, at the Lilydale Chalets rather than stay in town in Kimberely. It was a great stop. The chalets are your normal Sans Park fare. Basic but comfortable with a view across the Richie river. They can sleep 5, so the 4 of us... More

What a fantastic park. At times I thought I was the only person in the park. Game was plentiful, the staff friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Camelthorn tree house. Clean and comfortable and away from everyone else. With its own waterhole the animals come to you. My one criticism is that a boom gate is needed. It became... More

Stayed at the Mosu Lodge. The staff were extremely friendly, at the gate and reception. The Lodge area was very clean. The accommodation was clean, tidy and comfortable. We ate supper at the restaurant and it was superb! From the starters (spicy chicken wings), to the main course (fillet streak and vegetables) and then the desert (apple tart and cream)... More

This was a difficult review as I don't want to put people off going to this beautiful part of South Africa. The fauna, flora and scenery were breathtaking. I absolutely loved being in my car and driving around. The problems unfortunately come from higher up the management chain. We arrived at Lilydale Rest Camp in the heat of the day... More

We stayed at the small Lilydale rest camp for two nights. Check-in and gate procedures were smooth. The three-bedded chalet was nicely designed, with a deck looking out over the river. The birding was excellent for a very dry area on the edge of the Kalahari; 96 species were observed. Special mammal sightings included rhino, roan antelope and many red... More

Our second visit to this park did not disappoint. It is important to be aware of the large distances to this park from either Cape Town or Pretoria/Johannesburg. Our #15 chalet was very large and had a nice kitchen fully equipped. A very large shaded patio was a nice feature. This chalet is next to the perimeter fence so you... More

Between the 29th and 2nd Jan 6 of us stayed at the Mosu Lodge , the chalets are filthy , they don't wash the floors so we were told when we questioned the state of the floors, the bathrooms smell of urine and poo, you cant walk on the floors barefoot if you like clean feet. very disappointing. Chalets not... More

Such a hard place to review as the natural beauty and animals leads you to say excellent (it really is an awesome park to drive around in - the roads are well designed and the scenery is stunning) but the management lets it down a bit. We stayed in chalets at Lilydale. The chalets are beautifully sited above the river.... More

Very nice and wonderful experience visited the restaurant and nothing was to much for the staff which helped us in a very professional and friendly manner. Thumbs up for Mokala.
