This was a River Cruise with Crocodiles, Hippopotami, and such. Minimal boat - knowledgeable tour guide. Good as a first stop. We saw better later.

Lovely place to walk, to tour by boat or bike. Loved the contact with the hippo's and a comfortable distance to crocs :) Definitely want to go there again and show to my child.

Did a boat tour with Shakabarka Tours and had an excellent time. They spend time explaining about the region, and the animals. On the boat for 2+ hrs and you get snacks and then hot chocolate/coffee/tea.

Very good boat cruise to see wildlife. Plenty of hippos and crocodiles and birdlife. Even saw a baby crocodile.

I am a 51 year old South African and have never been to St Lucia Estuary although I was born in Empangeni, but we moved out of KZN when I was very young. So when we planned our holiday this year, I saw a good deal at St Lucia and decided this was it, I was going to make it... More

Around 10 minutes walk each way , this is a shady , safe attraction that will certainly show you some crocodiles and possibly Hippo . Free entry , ample parking . Starts near the Ski Boat Club and ends at Estuary beach where you can continue your amble as long as you want . This is not a loop .... More

We went on a boat trip along the river for 2 hours with the Advantage tour operators on the crocodile and hippo trip. Although the wind was a bad factor, was it still a good trip. The skipper is also well trained, by the way she approach the animals without disturbing them

Lots of hippos, but few birds when we took this cruise, still it was an enjoyable break from the LandCruisers.

Easy drive via directions from hotel staff and GPS. Beautiful long stretch of beach that is reminiscent of the state of Oregon coastline. Quick trip into the surf side community for market shopping (highly recommended) and a beverage before our 1.5 hr return drive to our lodge. Did not do the estuary tour - lots of crocs and hippos are... More
