We booked on the Fanaas "Spirit of St. Lucia'' Ferry...what a fantastic experience....the wildlife...exceptional. The highlight of the entire trip was the extremely friendly skipper, who was well educated in all aspects of the Estuary...it's history etc.

A well managed estuary and a definite to visit if you are interested in bird life, hippo and crocodile. Take binoculars and a good camera with a lens that is at least 400mm. You get great pictures of birds. This cruise is nice for family groups or young couples.

We took our tour along the estuary and really enjoyed the late afternoon cruise which allowed for good sightings of many hippos and some crocodiles. Our guide was excellent and humorous but also very informative. We have a huge appreciation for the hippos now !,

We booked a 2 hour tour on the river with 3 couples. The tour guide brought us close to several families of hippo's and crocodiles. Good explanation about the animals in the estuary and beautiful scenery. A must for tourist passing by. Fee for 6 adults was ZAR 1170

Wonderful experience to travel on the roof of the boat spotting hippo, crocodiles, and amazing birdlife including fish eagles and various types of king fisher. Excellent guide on the boat explaining the wildlife and surrounding habitat. Glass of wine, sun, relaxing on the boat watching wildlife, what more could you ask for?? Don't miss it!

Entry fee to Park is well worth it as you can drive at your own pace though the park and stop to see various animals along the way including zebra, kidu ad various antelope Toilet facilities included at viewpoints too and a limited shop at Cape Vidal so take supplies with you. River tour excellent with knowledgeable guides and we... More

This is a lovely protected eco area. The beach is very clean and you can swim in the sea at certain times. We saw some animals on our drive around the island. Would have liked to have stayed longer.
