We had an enjoyable day with Themba - he knows his bird calls and most birds. Be sure to confirm the pricing in writing before you go so you don't run into any surprises.

Spent two days with Themba and Bheki. Themba is an outstanding guide. Bheki is a good birder but needs some mentoring in order to understand client needs better. Themba is outstanding in knowledge, bird locations, calling the birds, persistence, and simply getting results. His passionate dedication to nature conservation is indeed praiseworthy, and deserves support in an area that desperately... More

I hired Themba one day and Bheki another, and both were great birders and guides--as well as pleasant to talk with. Bheki and I broke 100 species at Mhkuze between 6:15 and 1:00; Themba found a Banded Snake Eagle and many other great birds around St. Lucia. Any birder visitin the area should hire them!

We have had a boat trip on the estuary with a splendid view on hippoes, birds and mangrovias. Really peaceful and beautyful!

We had an early morning walk with Themba and saw and learnt a lot, in garden, wetland and forest settings - all in two or three hours. He is very knowledgeable and also excellent at spotting things. I think we listed about 30 or 40 species in the end, including a turaco and a really good long look at a... More

Themba's bird and area knowledge is exceptional! We spent 7 hours birding around St Lucia and saw more than 40 species and about 8 lifers! Well worth it!

Our choice of birding with Themba was a great investment. He spotted and called many species of birds in a variety of settings. We went on walks in St. Lucia forests, fields, wetlands and beach areas and heard many interesting stories of the native birds. Themba is very personable, patient and professional. He also introduced us to the local Zulu... More
