The guided tour was of 2 of the 3 areas, we couldn't visit the third area as the chimps were too aggressive. The keeper/guide was clearly devoted to helping these rescued chimps and the stories she told of the rescue of individual chimps were both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. I never knew that a chimp could teach... More

What an amazing experience to visit a Chimp Eden. Loved every minute of it. The best part is no human interaction with the animals apart from standing back and observing, the way nature intended. Our guide Jana was awesome, passionate and very knowledgable. Heartbreaking stories of abuse and neglect these chimps had to endure before being rescued. Well worth the... More

It's pricey? That depends on what price you put on helping animals humans harmed in the first place - it costs a lot of money to run places like this (not for profit sanctuaries). Dig out your dollars and go. Jane Goodall is one of the earth's few truly great conservationists and this refuge is a rare chance to see... More

It was our first encounter with Chimpanzees and we were fascinated by their individual characters so that alone was worth seeing. However, it was quite disturbing to hear the horrible stories of what they have had to live through and to see the consequences in their behaviour. Nevertheless the visit is worth the money to support sanctuaries like these to... More

The place is very well organized, really an Eden for the chimps. The tour is clarifying and interesting (you learn a lot about the chimps' hierarchy and rules) and the animals have a huge space to feel free and have fun. Their stories though, are really sad. It is hard to listen to the bad things they went through without... More

As some reviewers mentioned it is a resvpcue project and probably the best part is ten stories about how the chimps were rescued . I would have liked to see more tann just the two camps with chimps but probably good reason why the public is not allowed to see more

The Jane Goodall Chimp Eden is basically a retirement home for rescued chimps from all over. It is an admirable undertaking, but, unfortunately, isn't a very interesting or compelling place to visit. Our guide was very passionate about the chimps and gave is a the back stories on most of them. The first group was just outside the reception area... More

I went in Mach of 2014 with my daughter as part of our South African tour. I enjoyed the stories behind each Chimpanzee that was rescued as the Tour Guide fed them some nuts and bananas. She gave us good tips as some chimps act like babies and throw sand and rocks. She mentioned that the smartest chimp has the... More

Chimp Eden is set on a farm. There are three enclosures each with Chimpanzees in. All have been recued from various abuse and you get to hear their stories as well as watch them. Each has their own way of getting attention and some are real characters. We found it very informative and interesting.
