Great experience and stunning staff that know everything that you would expect them to know. even the curio lady was helpful with bizarre questions that some of the non-locals had. Fantastic job and fantastic team.

This is definitely worth the short drive out of town. It was so informative and a great experience learning about the chimps and their habitat. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made our experience even better.

We had a tour of an hour and a half during which we were introduced to all the rehabilitated chimps with a narrative of the history of the sanctuary and about chimps and their habits.

This facility offers a great education program to the public, as well as an opportunity to view the chimps in as natural an environment as can be achieved in an outdoor enclosure. I thought that the best part of the operation was the education component which occurred prior to actually visiting the chimps.

My apologies to the wonderful people at this Chimpanzee Sanctuary for the late review. Blame it on too much to do in a short period of time. While I believe that all animals should be free to live within their natural environmental conditions, this sanctuary has given the chimpanzees a second chance that they would not have otherwise had. The... More

I had seen the television show: "Escape to Chimp Eden" on the Animal Planet (now available from Amazon) and was thrilled to see the chimpanzees I had learned about on the show "live and in person" and doing so well! Their stories are heart breaking, but, because of Chimp Eden, these primates have been given another chance at life. Chimp... More

It's not ideal to see Chimpanzees in captivity but this sanctury is very well run with the right intentions. Our guide (Mark I think) had worked with Chimps all his life and was very knowledgeable. These sancturies offer the best hope for re-stocking wild populations of chimps and this has recently been done with some success (though not from this... More

Although the "sanctuary" is well constructed and well laid out, it gave us serious mixed feelings about this institution. Although we love to see chimpanzees, the place reminded us of a mental institution. Some very disturbed chimps who had travelled half the planet, at great financial expense, are gathered in this place. Such a place I would expect in Europe... More
