There was a time when a visit to one of the Kruger Park camps was a nostalgic experience with charming rondavels and shining brass fittings. As very regular visitors to the park we have seen over the last several years how we are paying a relatively high price for a filthy unit that is poorly maintained. On the surface it... More

Kruger is huge and very varied. There's a lot of off-road areas you cannot see. So sightings are down to luck. We saw no cats in two days :-( The southern region, which I was in, can be bus and "commercial" with lots of safari tours and the like. Even so, Kruger is wonderful!

My husband and I did two safaris in Kruger National Park, one with Kapama Buffalo Camp, highly recommend and the other with Mantobeni Honeyguide Tent Camp, very good. Kruger National Park boasts the big 5 and other plain animals. We were fortunate to see the leopard hunting on an afternoon/evening safari, lions and their kill, lioness and their cubs, herds... We spent 4 days camping at Berg en Dal in the Kruger Park in April. A fantastic setting and a truly well laid out camp. Kept very clean all the time. There were times when the ladies ablutions were very busy with long clues. Apart from a bunch of yobs that tried to see how many they could fit on... More

We drove ourselves around for four days staying in a central “Satara” camp area for 2 nights, and then 2 in the south at “Lower Sabie”. We enjoyed being able to stay as long as we wanted watching elephants and other animals. We had lots of good sightings and leisurely took photos. The food at Satara camp was quite good,... More

We recently spent 3 nights at Talamati Bush Camp in Central Kruger Park. The camp is small and intimate, and the accommodation (self catering) is basic but clean. The camp staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a covered hide overlooking a small waterhole - where you can see the Big Five up close if you're lucky. We saw... More

Another place to see--we did this and Victoria Falls in the same trip. GO and enjoy the drive and see the animals--we felt we were lucky and saw the big 5 all in 1 day--completely lucky. I would go again and go to the northern parts as we only stayed in the southern areas.

We visited Kruger in January 2015. It was my third visit to Kruger, but the first in a self drive vehicle. Past two times, I was disappointed with the lack of wildlife, but understood that their presence can be unpredictable accoording to many factors including weather on the day of the visit and previous days. Arriving early at the gate,... More
