My first visit here was with my new partner (she spent 15 years living and working in Africa) and we spent a week in Kruger moving between 6 of the camps. Worth the escapism of no graffiti, litter or speeding (max speed is 50 kph throughout the park). But it is also the excitement of the wildlife sightings that will... More

This is a very large game preserve and the one in which we saw the cats--one leopard and a pride of lions. This was in addition to the elephants, zebras, rhinos, hippos, giraffes and lots of birds. The roads are paved and there is a restaurant for a mid-day meal.

Saw the "Big Five" not expected but a real bonus when the Leopard strolled out of the bush right by the side of us, awesome! and to top it all we actually witnessed a Lion Kill

You really feel that this is non commercial. The animals are treated with respect. It's also very reasonably priced for entrance.

Satara and Berg-En-Dal were excellent camp sites, however, the biggest one, Skukuza, was very disappointing: Restaurant is under renovation and meals are served in some improvised barracks. Food quality was very poor. The huts didn't have toaster or microwave (like in Satara and Berg-en-Dal). Fridges didn't have protection and baboons opened it and spread all the food we had inside.

The park was clean and not too busy this time of the year. Which is a blessing as it can become a madhouse during South African school holidays. The weather this time of the year is fantastic and the viewing is easy due to the dry landscape.

Great place - our camp at Olifants was good. The new restaurant Mugg and Bean served a nice meal - service slow and they were awaiting a liquor licence. Park Shot well stocked
