My sister and I went with the positive feeling that we were contributing to animal welfare...It was with shock that once you have paid a very expensive entrance fee (around £70 per person) you are firstly taken to the elephant housing block!!! Its a concrete shed!! They then informed us they have 2 elephants...one 18 years and one 28 years.... More

A great place to get up close and personal with elephants. They have two males here which you can hug, pat, lead and ride. I even got kissed by one! A slightly mucky experience but I wouldn't have missed it.

The tour was interesting, the interaction and rides were awesome but it was very expensive (R3500 for 4 adults)

My wife and I were staying with Vuyani and we were thoroughly looking forward to this excursion. We were greeted by Moyo, the guide, who took us round the sanctuary and seemed very genuine, provided intelligent responses to questions and quite friendly. We were taken to the forest and Waite for the elephants to be brought round. They are huge... More

It was wonderful to spend a few minutes with elephants. What did become clear is that these were not rescued, they were purchased for a business. These poor elephants are woken up each morning at 7.30am and work all day. They sleep in cages and are lead around with mahouts carrying sticks with metal hooks on the end. They eat... More

I never knew the wrinkles on an elephant's skin are so deep - or that they have long hairs. But here you get to touch the sandpaper hide, the elbow callouses, the soft pads in the feet, and the wet tongue, The elephant 'kiss' is something else! It's not cheap, but it is well worth the money. Don't bother with... More

Were able to ride on the back of an elephant, or walk with the trunk in our hand, feed it or brush it down. We chose to ride only.

I was treated to an up close & personal interaction with 2 very beautiful African elephants who had been saved from another Park. The trainers & keepers were so informative & very protective of their rather majestic charges. They spend so much time with these elephants, play with them & very definitely love them. They explained that all the trainers... More

What was there not to enjoy and love? The Elephants are just gorgeous! A life-long dream came true by touching and riding an elephant!! It was also very informative. One can feel the love between the handlers, guides and the elephants.
