We arrived at a spot overlooking the canyon and it was still quite overcast and misty but even then you could see the beauty of the place. The canyon is vast and I had not realised before this visit that this wonderful place existed. There were wonderful craggy escarpments covered in greenery and you can get some great photographs. It... More

We drove all along the canyon as a slow route from Jo'Burg to Kruger. It was absolutely beautiful and we had no idea South Africa had that kind of topography. The day was a little hazy, so the view was diminished at God's Window. By the time we got to the 3 Rondavels the day was clearer. We were surprised... More

This is a beautiful green canyon, apparently the third largest in the world. As you travel along R532 there are several places to stop and view this wonderful place. Wonderview and God's Window give great views along the canyon. The Pinnacle is also a good stop. If you stop at God's Window take the pathway down from the parking lot... More

Nothing to dislike. Get there if at all possible, you will not regret it! Walk from the car park and then suddenly it opens up in front of you with the view of the Three Rondevels and the dam. Stunning. Tied it in with a visit to Bourkes Potholes and then Gods Window. All are magnificent natural phenomena.

This place is beautiful! If you are in the area please ensure you take the river cruise. It was a quick trip and completely worth it.

Took a drive along the route stopping at several viewing & waterfalls points along the way. All well sign posted with good facilities. Choose the timing of your journey with regards to the sun if looking to take photographs

I visited this attraction recently and found the scenery stunning and absolutely worthwhile. If you don't mind the noise of busloads of school kids, and you can stomach the litter and African arts and crafts stalls that clutters the parking area, poor access control etc, the scenery is well worth it.

I visited with my husband whilst on our honeymoon. This canyon is simply breathtaking. There are various vantage points from which to view the canyon, and all of them are equally amazing. The river was a beautiful turquoise blue colour when we visited, which contrasted wonderfully with the brown and orange tones of the canyon. It is a short walk... More

The Blyde River Canyon is the biggest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon. It is so beautiful and easy to see. It's not very crowded and it's really worth it.
