I visited with my husband whilst on our honeymoon. This canyon is simply breathtaking. There are various vantage points from which to view the canyon, and all of them are equally amazing. The river was a beautiful turquoise blue colour when we visited, which contrasted wonderfully with the brown and orange tones of the canyon. It is a short walk... More

The Blyde River Canyon is the biggest canyon in the world after the Grand Canyon. It is so beautiful and easy to see. It's not very crowded and it's really worth it.

There are few places to go to see such vast mountains untouched by society. You will see breathtaking waterfalls, canyons and vast expanses of virgin land. If your in the area add this to your trip!

without children. Took our pre-teens to this part of the world to view the beautiful landscape and views. Still great views, only eveywhere are paid attractions unlike in the past where it was free. The roads are also filled with potholes, beware, especially the R535, avoid at all costs unless you have a hovercraft. The Graskop is a central location,... More

A vast landscape that can be difficult to get into scale. The canyon has a number of view points and you have to pay a small fee to get to some of them from the road which is worth it. There are a couple of viewpoints from inside the Blydespoort Forever Resort with trails down into the canyon. We walked... More

This place has to be one of my favourite places on earth. The look out in the forever resorts grounds is a must for sundowners. The horse ride up the ridge is worth it for the best view of the canyon and right out over Kruger. It was very nice

Roads are good, plenty of curves as you climb altitude, green hillsides in September and splendid views and photo opportunities. Surprisingly, traffic was also light which added to the causual day.

Janet of Ekala Eco Tours took us to this Blyde Canyon. Along the journey of the scenic route to Blyde Canyon was fantastic with many waterfalls. We visited the Pinnacle. Colourful birds were flying around. We stayed in the canyon chalet for one night. It was big and comfortable. We could cook our meals there. But we went to the... More

A unique experience on a boat in the third largest canyon in the world. Amazing rock formations and colours. Saw a large crocodile sunning itself on a rock.
