The canyon itself is greatly magnificent, the size of it left me feeling shocked. No pictures can really capture the size of it, you HAVE to see it for yourself to truly grasp. Felt it should surely be entered into the world's wonders.

The combination blyde river canyon with the Panorama route is perfect. You have some beautiful views over the blyde river canyon and the lowland in the distance The blyde river canyon is really beautiful but don't expect something like the Grand canyon or the fish river canyon (in Namibia), because the blyde river canyon is much smaller. You can make... More

We added Blyde River Canyon + Kruger to a road trip between Swaziland and Botswana. In just one day, we drove over 500 km from our lodge to and through Kruger, to and through Blyde River Canyon and back. My travel companion was skeptical of the canyon, but was pleased afterward and admitted that the drive was lovely. The catch... More

This is worth the visit. The third deepest canyon in the world is truly a stunning sight. Driving around the area to see the other nearby view points and beautiful landscape makes the whole trip even more worth it. Wear comfortable shoes.

South Africa has so much to offer in its varied beauty, we are continuously awed by the views. The levels of mountainous range, the lighting, the falls, the varied foliage at each site pending where you look, so much brilliance, it's breathtaking.

Take your picnic lunch so you can enjoy the area longer. Interesting land formation of holes in the rocks that water rushes through. It’s worth stopping to see. Take your picnic lunch so you can enjoy the area longer.

I discovered this place by accident in planning my last trip to Africa. It location is a little off the beaten track or tourist trail. Knowing where it is, it is relatively easy to visit from Nelspruit or neighbouring places. Interesting enough, numerous people whom I asked in South Africa had either never heard of it or never visited it.... More

The views of the Blyde River Canyon from the viewpoint on the R536 are breathtaking. It has to be seen to be believed. Words cannot describe the sheer scale of natural beauty so go and see it! And don't forget to support the lovely local inhabitants who are making a living by selling beautiful handmade curios by the car park.
