Wow! This is definitely worth an activity on the family calendar due to the various fauna; from interesting monkeys, birds to the cat family and even some domestic animals. The 'zoo" is well kept and maintained like a little Eden in the Bushfield. A small cafeteria on site help for the thirst and a snack for the young and always... More

This is definitely worth a visit. Lots of interesting monkeys - we loved the ones who crushed the nuts that were given to them with a rock before indulging! The gorillas are beautiful too. A highlight were being able to pet the lion cubs. We had a tour guide. With the Pretoria Zoo becoming so increasingly unsafe, this is a... More

very impressed as to how clean and well kept this "Zoo" was. Had a tour guide who took us around and told us about all the different monkeys that were there. He took us to see the baby lions white and brown, baby white tiger, lovely South american birds. The tour takes about 1.5 - 2 hrs and well worth... More

Extremely hot in December and the website was down so uptodate info could not be obtained. Picnic site was advertised via a different website which was incorrect. I personally have a problem with a zoo in general so this was not a great day for me. The other members in our party found it very informative and educational. The great... More

Word cannot describe how great it is to interact with Lion cubs and a Chimp, to see white tigers, lions, a lot of monkeys and to learn about their history. An hours drive from PTA and definitely worth it - an outing for a couple, friends or family. Great services from Mercy, Maria and Max. You guys have made it... More

The highlight for me was getting to see the lions up close. I will recommend it for a family outing/educational tour.

We visited in December 2013. It's an easy day trip from Johannesburg and a nice fun day out. It can get very hot in December though and without much shade, you'd better remember to wear a hat. And comfortable shoes or sandles because you walk quite a bit. We had a guided tour. Our tour guide was okay. Not the... More

I got to play with the cubs and had photos taken, That was very cute and although they were biting it was not that bad. The cages of the monkey are very small and many of the other animals were restless.

The highlight was the interaction with the cubs. The animals are well looked after. The owner gave us a tour to the lion camps. I would not recommend taking children to the camps. If you do take them with, keep them at a save distance at all times.

I know it seems very tempting and we'd all love to cuddle an adorable tiger cub. But this practice in South Africa whilst legal is morally repugnant. What happens to these animals after they are too big to pet? Well looks like they are sold on to private collectors. I'm sure that your reason for wanting to visit this place... More
