Weekending in the Sedgefield area gave us an opportunity to hike the Brown Hooded Kingfisher trail in the Wilderness National Park. We needed a permit which was easily obtainable along the road to the trail. A map came with the permit. A short dirt road drive got us to the start. The parking could only handle 3 cars. The trail... We had family over from Oz and having lived over there and seen some of the wonders and incredible sights we had work to do to show them different things here . So we headed to The Garden Route and one of the many things we did was walk, canoe, walk some more then you hear crashing water up ahead.... More

We did the tour there starting on canoe and we had much fun together, playing, trying to put the others into the water... Then the walk was also nice, we saw a lot of insects, centipedes... Really a nice tour!

Wonderful natural beauty but too much commercialisation of the SAN parks. So many workers but not many friendly faces

We visited the park for the day to enjoy Canoe and Segway tour. Perfect for all the family. Take a bird book to take full advantage of the wild life.

A great park with well defined walking tracks. The section we did up to the waterfalls (Half collared kingfisher trail), required to use a punt to get across the river - it was a little challenging getting on and off the punt, but manageable. A reasonable level of fitness is required for the walk to the waterfall as there are... More

Being out of season it was very quite and peaceful. We walked the Big tree trail which was very nice. Also were lucky enough to see the knysna loeries.

We just spent some time there, exploring and just enjoying the well maintained Park. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a very quiet time there and it's not too expensive now in the Low Season. We will def be going back when we are in the area again.

We went on the waterfall track but did not have time to get to the waterfall (3 hours needed). Even so, it is an interesting walk through indigenous forest along track and boardwalk and easy. The pontoon across the river is unique and worth doing.
