A superb setting with horses, a new foal, chickens, dogs and other animals wandering freely through the gardens. We enjoyed a 90 minute ride through the woods doing some cantering and trotting whilst trying to avoid the low hanging branches. we even saw a monkey scampering up a tree.

My daughter's horse riding booking (3 hours) in the woods with Black Horse trails (situated near Hoekwil village) turned out to be an excellent family event. Reception at the trial venue was warm and hearty and the guides quickly explained formalities and the various experiences/ activities that would be enjoyed along the route. Once the riders and their guides set-off,... More

100% recommendable! I've been here a couple of times during my stay in Wilderness. The horses are very reliable, the stables and all the property are clean, well decorated... The staff is very very nice and friendly! The first day we did the 1.5H, which was really cool. The second day we did the 3H to the waterfall, which was... More

We had a lovely 3 hour ride with a group of 9 friends, some very experienced riders and some newbies (first-timers even!). This was no problem, as suitable horses were available for everybody. The horses look great and are treated with great care. The ride was beautiful with a nice stop at a waterfall (incl a refreshing swim). Our guides... More

Stunning scenery on horseback, with very friendly and accommodating guides. Take your swimming trunks if you do the 3 hour trip to the river.

My twin cousins, sister and i was there on the 17th of December. We had a fantastic time there. The route was amazing and the horses and guides were great. They took us deep into the scenic forest where we had a refreshing afternoon swim in the river. We walked, trotted and ran with the horses. We would definitely go... More

My brother and I are out-of-practice riders who were looking for a bit of adventure and outdoor fun so signed up for the short (2 hour?) forest trail. The family were very understanding when we got a little lost and arrived late, kitted us out with all we needed (helmets included) and took the time to understand our level of... More

We arrived early as we did not want to miss a second, and we were not disappointed. Immediately we were met by the lovely Andrea, and the fun started there. After tacking the horses, Andrea told us we were ready. She gave us some pointers and basics on riding the Friesians, as I had only ridden once before. The massive... More

My partner and I did the 1.5 hour ride through the pine forest. Helmets and chaps were provided. The guide was friendly and talkative, and we were fully briefed before heading out. The horses were well behaved and solid, and we had the opportunity for some trotting and cantering along the forest paths. It was a great outing, and we... More

After not riding in quite a while we were a bit nervous to get back on a horse. Andrea made sure we were given horses that would best suit us to keep us as safe and comfortable as possible and she checked up on us and made sure we enjoyed our ride every step of the way. The horses were... More
