We visited in April this year and had a wonderful ride. They sorted us out with some beautiful horses, my husband was on Jack as a total novice and I had Richtjie. My daughter an experienced rider was on Sophie. We all thoroughly enjoyed the ride down to the waterfall, the scenery was stunning especially in the old part of... More

We had a wonderful afternoon with Lyndsay and Stefan riding the waterfall trail. Brian has not really ever ridden a horse and within 20 minutes we were enjoying a canter through the forest. This is a testament to how well schooled the horses are, and also how safe Brian felt with the ride (and maybe a smidge of excitement from... More

As a beginner I was for a ride on "Jack", a really calm horse. I enjoyed the 3 hours trip to the waterfall very much, even though it was raining a lot ... My guide Lyndsay was a great host and we had a good conversation while riding through the forest.

This was an experience to remember in stunning Wilderness. Lyndsay and her beautiful horses looked after us on the ride through the different forests leading to the waterfall. We appreciated Lyndsay's guidance for a safe and enjoyable ride. We visited Zucchini Restaurant (owned by Lyndsay and her partner) afterwards for a delicious lunch and the tastiest lemon cheesecake!

We took the scenic route via The Valley road which is full of potholes and beautiful farms. Taking the tar road is slightly less adventurous but just as beautiful. We were greeted by Lindsey the owner who is so lovely. The horses were friendly Frieslands, perfect for us complete beginners. The routes into the forest are stunning and we were... More

Myself and my boyfriend booked for a Saturday afternoon 3 hour ride to the waterfall, and it was a fantastic experience all round. Lindsay, the owner and our guide was great. We are not highly experienced riders but she gave us just enough instructions, support and leeway to have a really fun ride. The horses where also lovely, not the... More

My husband and I booked a 3 hour Waterfall ride with Blackhorse Trails in March - and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I ride and he doesn't but there was an appropriate horse for both of us to ensure that we both got the most out of the ride. I rode Buffy who was loads of fun and my husband rode... More

I am currently volunteering at Black Horse Trails giving trail rides and so far the experience is fabulous! Lyndsay and Stef (the owners) are lovely people who welcome you to their ranch like old friends. The horses are stunning, especially the Friesians which I have come to call the gentle giants. The 3-hour waterfall trail is especially beautiful. If you... More

Never imagined that such gentle giant horses, nice and calm, could be so easy to ride without the bit...therefore it was amazing, I am delighted because I as an advanced rider, and my wife with no experience could manage with comfort those black Fresians. The German guide was calm and warmth and able to handle to whole trial fore more... More
