A perfect seaside location.

A good choice away from the City of Durban, we had everything we could need for a lovely holiday very close at hand. Easy transport to the Airport.

We stay at the Oyster box regularly and just love the beautiful walk in the front of the hotel, it stretches along the beach and right into a beautiful mangrove area , a great trail run if you are keen. The area is beautifully clean and seems safe. There are many little restaurants up the road if you wish to... More

A lovely town close to Durban. The beach was busy but enough room for all. The town is pretty with many places to eat.

I have just returned from a 16 day holiday in Umhlanga. This is a beautiful part of South africa. At no time did we feel threatened. We were able to walk to the restaurants each night in complete safety. The prom along the seafront is a lovely walk and safe.

We have a family flat on the beach. Great holiday memwas. Umhlanga has a great night vibe and feel pretty much safe to walk on the board walk. Nicely paved and clean.

Umhlanga Rocks is a lovely location, beach is pristine and quiet. The centre has a good balance of curio/gift shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. People in shops etc were very friendly and helpful. Some great photo opportunities with the beach, sea, pier, lighthouse and some lovely rock outcrops.

One of the best places to catch the sun rise over the indian ocean. Great photo opportunities with the pier, lighthouse and some lovely rock (giving rise to the name presumably) outcrops. Get there early tho, the sun rises closer to 4:30 in the summer and 6:30 in the winter. Warm water all year round and great promenade for a... More
