It is a very well run park but staff other than the head game ranger were not friendly or helpful. Think they rely on tour busses and conferences. The self catering chalets are very well stocked with equipment and very clean. Do however take food supplies as the shop is under supplied - in fact a joke. Nothing much in... More

I stayed at Ntshondwe camp for few days. The unit was warmly decorated, spacious, equipped with necessary appliances & kitchen utensils which would accommodate use by up to 3-5 adults. Chalets are surrounded by lushy bushes, with views of antelopes, vervet monkeys and other wildlife possible. There is a lovely pool area overlooking the cliff, nice spot to relax. Walking trails... My wife and I visited this KZN park a few weeks ago for the first time since 1997, and were happy to re-discover the scenic wonders of this remote corner of the province. We were upgraded from a non-selfcatering chalet to a spacious self-catering unit, with a bath. The chalet was in good condition, set apart from the others, which... More

Although it doesn't have all the BIG 5 - this is a beautiful reserve with a great variety of vegetation, beautiful landscapes, many bird species and still many antelope and other animals to keep you entertained. The service was great and we will certainly be back.

We stayed here for a couple of days and really enjoyed it. Was so quiet and at times it felt like we were the only ones in the park! Loved the experience completely. The beds were the most comfortable beds we have EVER slept on. Breakfasts at the restaurant were fantastic. Loved every minute of our stay here!

With another couple, we spent three nights at Thalu Bush Camp in Ithala Game Reserve in Kwa Zulu Natal, South Africa. The bush camp was very comfortable, clean, fully equipped for a wilderness camp: a liquid propane tank provided energy for gas lights, cooking, refrigeration, hot water; the setting on the stream bank was scenic; and as night fell we... This is a very relaxed Reserve with lots of game to see: Impalas, Zebras, Rhinos, Giraffes, Kudus, Gnus, Wilderbeasts, Warthogs, Ostriches, Baboons etc. Unfortunately the 160 elephants (as we were told) were hiding very well so we didn't meet them, as is also true for the secretive Leopards, which tracks though can be found everywhere. No lions!!! A breathtaking nature,... More
