Ntombi gave us the best introduction and experience of Soweto. She listen to our wishes and shared her large knowledge and love for her hood and the very welcoming and friendly people with us in the best way I could image. I will recommend everyone the walking tour with her, as it gives time to meet and feel the atmosphere.... More

As most of our holiday was arranged by a travel agent and rather sanitised, we arranged this tour to ensure we saw something of real life. We took the 4 hour walking tour on 26th December. We were picked up on time from our hotel and set down at the cooling towers to start our tour. Our guide was a... More

Ntombi Mlakalaka is an absolute gem. A fully qualified tour guide who has spent most of her life in Soweto, Ntombi not only has a bubbly personality but a wealth of information to share. And will personalize your tour to suit your interests and schedule, all at a very affordable rate. If we could give her more than 5 stars,... More

We booked Usizo tours based on the recommendations of a friend (not through reading tripadvisor) for a Township Tour (Soweto) and are very glad we did. You won't get a real taste of the culture of Johannesburg if you just stay in the isolated bubble of Sandton. Our tour guide was a young man (I think it was nendela but... More

We pre-booked a tour with Ntombi for the 2nd of February and she called me the day before to confirm and again on the morning to explain she was slightly delayed by the traffic (She was meeting us at our hotel). The original plan was to travel by taxi-bus but as there was a bus strike that day these were... More

I booked a walking tour with Ntombi as we had family visit from the UK. I wasn't sure what to expect but we were all really keen to understand more about this Township and understand a bit more about the community. Ntombi gave us a great tour and shared some really interesting insights to the area and let us get... More

We booked with Ntombi after seeing a review on Lonely Planet and because my wife was keen to use a small local guide, having heard a few negatives about the larger organised tours. On the whole I found Ntombi to be a really nice lady; we were travelling with our toddler and she was very considerate of that and made... More

We spent about 7hrs. The guide was very nice and patient, knowing local people and always explaining everything in detail. The interesting tourist destinations that you can visit are Hector Peterson Museum, Regina Mundi and Mandela House. It was indeed a very nice experience, I loved it!
