My parents live very close to this park and my Dad walks there from home often. I had never been there and I am so glad I got to go on this visit to SA. We were there the Tuesday after the heavy Sunday rains which flooded some areas so some of the park was closed off. The staff were... More

Really lovely gardens and friendly staff. Wonderful location. If you are an active visitor, follow the circular route upwards from the waterfall and keep going. The walk takes about an hour and a half and when you get to the top the views are superb. You can watch the Verreaux's eagles soar. Plenty of birds and loads of plant life... More

Very impressed with a garden maintained to the standards we are used to in Europe. Wide areas for kids to play, maintained walkways for prams/wheelchairs. Play area for kids with tunnels etc. Porters to carry the family's picnic. Restaurant with good service and value for money. And of course the eagles! Negative commentary is probably from people not adhering to... More

Was an awesome experience! Beautiful gardens, clean, neat bathrooms well positioned and clean. Their website does not justify the absolute beauty of the gardens and waterfalls. The eagles nest Restuarant serve a ver good buffet. Definitely recommend a visit. The cover charge is well priced and also caters for pensioners.

We were lucky to go just after heavy rains in the Johannesburg region and the falls were in full flow, we packed a lovely picnic basket and found a quiet spot under some lovely shady trees. We spent the whole day there, reading our books, snacking, admiring the bird life and tranquility that surrounded us, we even got a game... More

Clean, well kept gardens, it is a lovely venue for a picnic under shady trees. Good to take overseas visitors who appreciate the unspoilt natural surroundings, the bird life and of course the waterfall, which is flowing strongly after all the rains!

I came here a few times during my time spent in South Africa. It is a great place to chill, have a picnic and go on hikes taking the trails through the park. The waterfalls are beautiful and when flowing with water make a great photo. I was lucky enough to see eagles flying and making nests while I was... More

We were a group of about 20 friends. The expanse of space, lush green lawn and ample trees ensured that we found probably the best picnic spot I've ever had! We even had a view of the mountains and falls from where we sat! The R30.00 entrance fee is clearly well used as the park is beautifully maintained with perfectly... More

I would say I am at the Gardens 4-5 times a week and there is never a dull moment! From the beautiful waterfall up to the peaceful and tranquil hut that watches over the Sasol Dam. I commend the staff who keep the garden clean as every visit is free from litter! I recommend going on an early walk just... More
