This location witnessed some very important stages in the evolution of apartheid and it's eventual downfall. It is a place to be savoured slowly and thoughtfully. Those of us whose lives were contemporaneous with apartheid could well be deeply moved by being reminded of things we were aware of at a distance (in England) - as well as the things... More

Had the privilege of being hosted around this museum by one of the grandchildren of one of the past lawyers who are also featured at this museum. This Grand Child spent time here as a little boy when it was still a hideout. So much in depth info given - Thank you for your time.

So we ended up at this museum by sheer chance, I don't regret it at all. This museum is so well maintain and has been preserved in a modern way. They Charge R80 per person, and it includes a 20 minute movie about the scandal that went down at Lilies leaf. I love the fact the museum is an interactive... More

Absolutely one of the best displays of historical culture I have seen. Will definitely be visiting again in 6 months when some more of the rooms are opened up with new material.

I was visiting for the second time, as my husband had not been before. I enjoyed it just as much as the first time I went there last September (2014). The whole experience is salutary and seeing the photos and listening to the first hand accounts keeps your attention throughout. Do allow plenty of time so that you can see... More

A little known part of such an important history! Loved the visit. If you want to learn more about South Africa's historical figures in the fight for breaking up the apartheid system this is the place to go to!

What a fantastic world class museum. Excellently curated exhibits with a diverse mix of information and background, and a lovely cafe (for an essential pit stop).

If you have time for a leisurely history lesson in the capture of the Umkhonto we Sizwe movement, and the big players pre-ANC, Nelson Mandela's capture whilst masquerading as a garden boy and talk of a mystery missing gun that he owned/used, Liliesleaf will not disappoint! They also have a great conference venue, coffee shop and high tech installed in... More

If you are interested in South Africa's Apartheid past this is a must. We explored it on our own because we found out that by doing it that way we can see and take in so much more. Everthing is so user friendly that anyone should be able to cope without a guide and you will be in charge of... More
