This is the most wonderful and well groomed nature reserve ever visited with real good service. The night drives cater for groups of 10-12 and was a real experience to go with my wife on one of them. Firewood and blankets are supplied and we snuggled happily next to the fire while listening to the game roaring in the night... More

We have visited Rietvlei 3 times in one year to take visitors. We have done 2 lion tours which can be hit and miss - try to get a feeding tour at 11am (why do they not put this info on their website?). The second visit we hardly saw anything on our self-drive game drive around the reserve, but the... More

Lovely place to get away from the city hustle and bustle. Parking on "popular" holidays and weekends tend to leave you stranded - but all the more + points for keeping the facility in it's natural state. Join the Facebook page

Little known to many this nature/game reserve is literally a stone's throw out of the city and offers a quick escape away from it all. Take a loaf of brown bread and feed the fish from the lookout down at the braai/picknic area - good fun for everyone :-)

Lovely day outing for Nature Lovers, Plenty of animals to be seen. Can get up close to Rhinos at the Coffee shop. They also serve a good breakfast at the restaurant, value for money. Took the lion tour, but during midday, recommend to rather do the earliest tour if you want to see active lions. They also have recently add... More

A year has gone since we first visited the Rietvlei Nature Reserve with our director from the UK. Our meetings did not allow much time to go game viewing but the afternoon we had before he caught the Gautrain back to the airport was well worth it. We saw 3 Rhino at almost the same spot next to the side... More

I may be biased but this nature reserve is one of the best I have been to. It is literally walking distance from my housing community, we actually share a wall, so that's 5 stars for location :) I have gone here a few times already with friends and family that have come to visit and each time you experience...
