This place was really great! It's perfect for those who just want to relax and get away from the city! I went there with my boyfriend and we sat in front of the dam and we had a lovely picnic.

This was so much more than I'd expected! Just off the highway between O R Tambo airport and Pretoria this nature reserve + dam afforded hours of pleasure at an incredibly good price. In a small hire car, I followed the tarred routes through the reserve (there are dirt roads for more intrepid explorers). I was delighted to see ostriches,... More

Lovely little place and easy to find/ get to. We saw most animals including a rhino with her baby. An enjoyable day trip for all.

We were spoiled to see Rhino where no other cars were. Plenty birdlife and animals. Went to the coffee shop and found Two rhino moms with their tiny babies. Our son was in his element! Will be back as soon as possible. Really enjoyable

We last visited Rietvlei about 3 years ago. On Sunday we tried it again, we saw 8 Rhino, many species of buck, nice grass veldt birds and thoroughly enjoyed our day. The management really seem to be involved, the hides are clean and we'll maintained, the roads we'll kept and they now have a tea garden which was really nice... More

We went the sunday there for lunch and game viewing/ photography. A great outing close to Pretoria. At the one picnic spot a new hippo view was put up since my last visit. There is 2 picnic spots that i know off. Great photograph opportunities. A Lapa that can be booked.

This is a gem. I've lived in Gauteng all my life and we'd never been here before until today. It is close to Pretoria (45min from Jhb NW suburbs) but once inside it is hard to imagine that you are in close proximity to a large city. The facilites are immaculate - lots of attention has been paid to upkeep... More

I visited the nature reserve 2 weeks ago upon hearing that there were 3 baby rhinos. It was my first time seeing baby rhinos and it was amazing. Enter through gate 13 and go to the restaurant. We found out from the game rangers that the rhinos do come by for a feeding in the afternoon, as it is winter... More
