We always visit this market during the festive season and make it a days outing together wth the famous dairy farm nearby. We usually make a beeline for the food section near the entrance and enjoy lunch there from the numerous vendors catering for various tastes form snacks, treats to proper meals. There are so many creative craftsy folk here... More

I really enjoy visiting this market every time I go to South Africa. It's full of locally produced arts, craft and food and the atmosphere is just so good. If you're in the area don't miss it, but be sure to get there quite early otherwise parking can be quite difficult. Some history here too - the home of the... More

Held in the grounds of Smuts House, which in itself is a salute to a great man and his wife, Ouma Smuts. Every year when visiting South Africa, this is a must for me so make sure to be there on either the second or last Saturday of the month. The sun shines through the trees making the wandering through... More

Nice large market, a wide variety of items both for a few oldies, books and some creative crafts. I think you should decide on what you want to spend before you come to the market and only bring that amount of cash with you. You do have to pay for parking.

So many stalls one has to set aside at least four hours to go through all the stalls and enjoy talking to the stallholders. Fresh bread, cakes, pastries, biltong and many other food products are on sale. Fantastic range of cheese and meats too. All the hand/home made items on sale are fantastic for gifts or ones own use. I... More
