Located in Irene, 40km from Joburg, is this beautiful outdoors market. Anyone and everyone who loathes spending time at malls, must visit. whether its for food, crafts, antiques for for the lack of something better to do - this market has something for everyone. and its pet friendly too! for pics and more on the market, please read http://namz610.wordpress.com/2014/02/24/to-market-to-market/

Nice large market, a wide variety of items both for a few oldies, books and some creative crafts. I think you should decide on what you want to spend before you come to the market and only bring that amount of cash with you. You do have to pay for parking.

So many stalls one has to set aside at least four hours to go through all the stalls and enjoy talking to the stallholders. Fresh bread, cakes, pastries, biltong and many other food products are on sale. Fantastic range of cheese and meats too. All the hand/home made items on sale are fantastic for gifts or ones own use. The Irene market is not to be missed! Get there early to get a good parking and choose from a wide variety of food for breakfast! The crafts and hand made items are out if this world, makes me very proud to be South African when I see such talent!

Over 300 hand made and local stalls in a beautiful safe outdoor environment. Held on the 2nd and last Saturday of each month. Fun activities for the... More

I travelled to Pretoria on business with my mom and we were lucky to be there the last Saturday of the month so we were able to attend The Irene Market. We took our fur babies with and there were many other four legged friends around the market. Parking was not to hard to find and we paid the required... More

This is a market not like all the other flea markets. They have some good art and quality products and produce.

The Irene market used to be a very exclusive type of market but in recent times the magic has diminished somewhat as a result of cramming to much into too little space. The quality of exhibitors has sadly changed for the more kitsch and everyday type of wares. I certainly hope that the owners will take heed of the situation... More
