Travel from the tombs of Egypt to the dusty mining town of early Joburg and find out how beer transformed through the ages. Price is R55 which includes two complimentary beers after the tour, I had the Castle milk stout and loved it. Great way to spend a couple of hours and even got to watch live premiership football in... More

This is a fun tour and very inexpensive, plus you get a small beer ( keep the glass) at mid tour and two adult sized beers at the completion. Very informative and entertaining view of he history of brewing and the development of beer in South Africa. Great for kids, too.

I've been on much better beer tours...if its your first brewery tour, you may find some of this more fascinating, but if you've been on one already (Where they show you how beer is made) this is a bit repetitive, and they make you sit through these long, mostly irrelevant videos (sometimes incoherent - still have no idea what the... As a Sommelier & Chef I visit a lot of Breweries and this tour is quite different. From it's Disney-esque sets and audio-visual presentations on the history of beer to the live barley and hop garden it is truly a unique brewery tour that depicts more than just the brewing process.

I've been to many brewery tours around the world but this was the most interactive and historical. From Egyptian Tombs to African villages and shebeens, it gives an interesting look at beer and its history in South Africa and around the world. Well worth the visit.

We visit World of Beer often for Pub Lunches. The food is good and the location very convenient for us.

I've been on a bunch of brewery tours around the world and I must say that the SAB world of beer is not terribly exciting. Definitely worth a visit though as it is situated in Newtown, so while you are there you can take a stroll up to Marshall Town and Ghandi square

Interesting, informative two hour tour if you are interested in learning about the origins of beer followed by a complimentary ice cold beer and snacks. Pub meals also available.

I love to visit breweries. SAB has done an excellent job - worth a visit and a cold beer afterwards.
