For those who have never had the privilege of going to India, you can find a bit of it here. It is a fun place to experience for the first time to see variety of items from spices, homeware, jewelry, clothing and foods in one place. Expect to bargain and haggle your way around. Quite safe and relatively big. Can... More

Numerous small shops with a variety of merchandise. You are very likely to get whatever you are looking for - great place for clothes, fabrics and tailors/dress makers. Restaurant, World of Samoosas, is great eating place if you are looking for authentic Indian food of a high quality - this place is busy on Saturdays so you may have to... More

This is the second time I have reviewed this mall. The first time I was too early so most places were not open (they only get going around 09H00). Don't be put off by the location of the Plaza it is only about 5 min. drive off the M1 freeway and once inside it is very safe , clean and... More

The Orinental Plaza in Fordsburg is worth the trip if you are after good prices and variety for fabrics. You can buy in small quantities or per roll of fabrics for clothing, upholstery, curtain or linen. They also have a few outlets with boutique clothes sourced from abroad and local. There are tailors and seamstresses who can make the outfits you... More

You can find just about anything at Oriental Plaza. Be ready for crowds on the weekends. The items sometimes can be quite cheaply made, so be careful with what you buy.

I can safely say I have not been to the Plaza for more than fifteen years. It is not in the best part of town but I was very pleased with what I found, security was very good and visible both outside and inside the plaza and you feel as safe as you would in the middle of Sandton. There is... More

I am disappointed by the Plaza now days. It is really not in very good shape and the stores and traders do not have that old 'lets make a deal' buzz. It is now just a run down, third world mall.

hygiene terrible, crowds terrible, often overpriced, but it is a collection of shops that sell everything from linen to suits to jewels and perfume. if u need something, go and get it.

If you're shopping for fabric, curtains, suits, etc... Oriental Plaza is the place to do it in. Prices are better than at a mall and the shops usually offer tailoring or sewing services to provide you with whatever you're looking for.

A below average experience where prices are not all that great. Very few shops issue official vat invoices and will be interesting to know if they pay their fair amount of taxes
