We just visited the craft market and had a great time looking at everything and got many souvenirs/gifts of exactly the types of "traditional" African things we hoped for. The vendors definitely engage you to come look at their booth, but they are not aggressive and do not pester you once you come take a look. It was a very... More

This is a nice market to explore in Rosebank and place to pick up all sorts of African decorations, utensils or curios. As one of the few markets open midweek, it is a fun place to explore. We got a fair bit of pressure from nearly all the vendors to come and look at their goods, and everyone told us... More

The market is one stop shopping with most crafts that are made in SA. You need to bargain and it is difficult to just browse without being asked to "buy" "buy".... You do get some good deals and the upper floor has a number of better quality items. If you have time it is nicer to get your purchases in... More

Lots of things to see and buy. Just be warned some of the stall people are quite pushy and trying to sell things to you, a quick way to get them away is to tell them you are a local then they immediately shut up. The craft market is not as big as it used to be, however, it still... More

The crafts here are the same that you would find in all the souvenir shops but with much cheaper prices. The stall holders are very friendly and seem to enjoy the haggling. Some great bargains for lovely pieces.

Wide variety and choice! Excellent quality African ornamental items. It offers a rural African experience within a city. Vendors could be overbearing if one is not used to a typical African market shopping style.

Having just returned from an extensive trip through West Africa, it was interesting to find much of the same items all here under the one roof. It was fun to relive the spirited haggling with the store holders and get a mask I wish I'd grabbed in The Gambia last month. If you want quality, authentic souvenirs you'll find them... More

The African Crafts Market is located very conveniently in Rosebank and one can park at the Rosebank mall and walk to it. Its full of absolutely wonderful African art such as masks, paintings, figurines, wall hangings, key rings, tons of tribal jewellery, etc. The people are very sweet and friendly and their niceness persuades you to buy stuff! The items... More

You'll find great food and interesting souvenirs. There is also great artwork here, but the big pieces are quite pricey. Parking can be a problem so it's nice to go early.
