Unlike other stadiums, the Soccer City Stadium is unique, built with the shape of a calabash gourd, a traditional drinking container created from the shells of plants such as pumpkins. The gourds are still in use in a number of traditional African settings. The stadium sits next to a decommissioned cooling tower. It hosted matches during the 2010 world cup.... More

In general, the stadium is aesthetically pleasing, however the location is not so great. The stadium was very neat and tidy. Security guards and other personal were not very well informed as to where the various entrances were for the concert. More lighting is required outside the stadium as it was completely dark after the concert which made it extremely... More

I attended the 1D concert at the FNB stadium at the end of March 2015. It was my first time visiting the stadium and I was impressed. The stadium itself really does look like a calabash from the outside. There were plenty of parking available and guards around to direct traffic. I never realised how close the FNB stadium is... Attended the 1D Concert at soccer city. It was my first visit to the stadium. The outside is spectacular. I was in awe of the design and layout of the stadium. Sufficient parking close by and very well organised security guards directing you in and out of the parking areas. The bathrooms were less than impressive though and need some... More

we went to see one direction at this stadium . i was so impressed with how full it was but how easily it managed a crowd . There are so many toilets that are all very clean . it would have been nice to have more wandering vendors. as the sun sets on the stadium it truly is magnificent ...

I think that South Africa showcased a brilliant world cup and the FNB stadium was the flagship stadium. At the time we had an apartment atop Northcliff Hill from which we could see the stadium. We saw the firework displays that accompanied the matches. It was brilliant. Not being a football fan I will never visit it in use but... More

This stadium, purpose built for the World Cup Soccer is a fantastic sight to behold. We were going to watch what was to be a fantastic game between the Orlando Pirates and the Kaiser Chiefs. Watched the game from the high quality suites; great food and drinks served; highlight of the game for me, post the game was that I... More

Ok. To be fair I have only been to music concerts here but WOW! Just to see it is amazing! Beautiful. Great atmosphere in & around the stadium. Use a coach though. Parking is usually very well ordered but getting out at the end is nuts!
