On my third trip to Johannesburg I was adamant that I would travel on the Gautrain this time. Buying a ticket was easy - works like the UK Oyster card. We were warned by the ticket seller to get rid of our chewing gum as there is a hefty R700 fine. Waited on a clean and quiet platform. The train... More

We are talking about a train where all people have to have a car to travel. It may be best transport medium for the people who doesnt have cars and frequently travel between JNB and PTA. But if you have a car you dont need it. It is too expensive for a journey for just 50 kms. There is nothing... More

An enjoyable experience when travelling on the Gautrain. Very professional. Always on time. The trains are safe. Standards are world class. I've travelled on the Virgin bullet train from London to Glasgow. Gautrain whilst not a long trip bullet train ticks all the same boxes in terms of standards. The trip from OR Tambo International Airport is absolutely fantastic and... More

I use the train almost everyday. Clean, lots of security guards and quite affordable compared to using your car. When there are delays, generally communication is good both at the station and via Twitter/SMS. Park in the station and not outside though, my wheel caps were stolen last Thursday outside PTA station. Couldn't park inside as it was full. I... More

The gautrain is supper fast, clean, punctual, convenient. Easy to connect pretoria and Johannesburg. I used it to go to Sandton and I was late for the meeting but I managed to arrive on time. If you want to beat traffic take the Gautrain

Loved it. Was on time, clean and fast. My first time on a train like this. Loved it! A bit expensive tho, but understand that is the reason it is still clean!

I had to fly in OR Tambo which I don't normally due after a flight was redirected. It was so easy to buy a ticket catch the train to Sandton and then a bus to a stop close to home to get picked up. I am considering this for future return flights to Johannesburg

One of the few, services offered in this city, that is always on time and well run. However i do find the trip to the Airport expensive for local travellers.

Gautrain is fast & comfortable & clean & secure. Fairly cheap ($11 at USD/ZAR 13.0) and easy to get back & from the airport.
