As someone who is rather obsessed with all kinds of museums, history and antiquities, I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the National Museum! The whole layout of the museum is easy to follow, the exhibitions are well maintained and there's loads to see. The only drawback was some minor renovations being done when we visited, but... More

Exhibits were mediocre - no refreshments available and hassled by bums outside the Museum. Not a nice experience

The ANC goverment has got a track record as one of the most destructive goverments in the world. Many national treasures have been destroyed. Lets hope this little treasure survived. Further up the road one of the most beautiful public swimming pools in the world has been left to rot and no longer exists but for a hole in the... More

So much more than I expected. I walked around for an hour staring at displays, and I wished I had more time. The museum has recently been restorated, and really will captivate any knowledge-seeker.

Didn't expect much but for the price this is an absolute bargain. Took about and hour and a half to go round as a group and has a great history of Bloemfontein section. Some of the taxidermy looks a little odd but that kind of added to the entertainment.

We went to see this attraction with my 12 year old brother. First of all the entrance fee is ridiculously cheap (under R10) and it is therefore a great attraction to visit if on a budget. There are sweets and drinks available to buy at the counter as well. The museum is well presented and houses much more exhibits than... More

Fairly standard natural history museum fare - necessary in a provincial capital, but this one did not stand out as a unique example. Exhibits were all of a good quality, with some interactive aspects.
