I particularly like the geological section of the museum. It has a display of a diamond in its natural form. I also enjoy the ethnological section on the second floor where different tribes in Southern Africa are presented. The exhibits range from local history of a township to famous political leaders in South Africa. It is so comprehensive that I... More

The museum is well-worth a visit, especially for schoolkids and families. It is surprisingly big with old and new exhibitions. Unlike some of the latest museums, it is not very interactive; it mostly uses displays.

The museum is well managed and maintained. There is something for young and old but the small children really enjoy everything. If you like museums do not miss this one.

Upstairs is an exhibit on old Bloemfontein, giving the visitor an idea of what it must have been to live in the Bloemfontein of yesteryear - some 120... More

Thew museum has a mixture of things, including geological exhibits and stuffed wild animals. The most interesting parts are a series of reconstructions of daily lie in history and of the political history of the city. This is where the African National Congress was founded.

We liked the whole experience the first floor was well laid out and the second was just fantastic. Remade a town which was just like walking back in town. A tremendous amount of animals and all well set out.

I Really enjoy going here every time!! One sees the bigger picture of of our planet compared to others, the dinosaurs that walked the earth, the history of our country and all the amazing animals in South Africa are very realistically displayed! Entry fee is about R5... Really.... Just go and see it already!!
