Great place to get a beautiful view of the biggest part of Bloemfontein. You can also participate in the Park Run every Saturday morning 08:00, for free! The Planetarium has great shows about stars, planets, space junk, micro organisms and more. Very educational and with the beautiful wild life life giraffes, zebras, etc, it makes a great walk-about for the... More

Sunday mid afternoon we headed to Navel Hill without much expectation of seeing anything except some Bloemfontein views and the Nelson Mandela statue. We were certainly surprised to spot lots of game, Zebra crossing the road and pulled over to admire a Giraffe only 100 metres away! Initially we were so focussed on it, that we failed to noticed the... More

Went for morning hike. Breathtaking view of Bloemfontein. If you are lucky, you will get to see some of the wild giraffes, zebra, ostrich, and antelope roaming the hill.

The best thing about Naval Hill is the magnificent statue of Nelson Mandela with his characteristic raised fist. Lovely photo oportunities with the statue as well as magnificent views over Bloemfontein. Unfortunately this place is a case in point for missed opportunities- the restaurant is unfurnished and stands as an empty white elephant, there are few signposts and the roads... More

We really enjoyed this outing as we managed to arrive at the planetarium 20min before the show started. This is really something special and lasts 1h15min and costs R50 per adult. We also enjoyed the lookout spots and the huge statue of Nelson Mandela. There is no entrance fee and you can take yourself on a drive around the reserve... More

Had a drive around here but there is nothing much to see at all; pretty crap really. Even the onsite restaurant was closed.

Amazing view from Top of Naval Hill...they however need to keep place clean and improve on safety and security.

What a disappointment. The qwwq overall impression is great but it really is covered with weeds and bottles paper and garbage at all the viewpoints. No Information anywhere. Such a good idea but missing the point.

We drove up Naval Hill this morrning anticipating great views & some signs of the history attached to the area. Disappointingly all 9 viewpoints were badly signposted & maintained. The bushes everywhere have been allowed to grow unchecked so the views are obstructed. Also, there are no notices explaining where each viewpoint is overlooking. We drove up to an area... More

Naval Hill is a fast growing tourists attraction of distinction in Bloemfontein. Although still under development, there are certain things that make it stand out. The altitude: The change of altitude as you drive/cycle/run/walk up the slope of the mountain is an experience worth going through. Once you have ascended the Hill the freshness of air fills your lungs and... More
