The Nelson Madela statue is impressive. We were at a private showing at the planetarium, so I don't know what its accessibility is to the public. If available, they have a nice show.

A unique mini ecosystem around various communication masts has been allowed to deteriorate ... road in poor condition, the newly built award winning restaurant complex is empty ....

Naval Hill, so named because British Naval units manned the artillery during the Anglo Boer War. The top of the hill provides wonderful views over Bloemfontein, and is well worth the visit.

With Bloemfontein suffering one of its worst droughts in decades, the heat and dust storm made it unpleasant. Rumours of a restaurant being built is still just that. The view of Bloem is good and under different circumstances would have been great. Lots of walks and home to a Nelson Mandela statue that was recently added. Also a nature reserve... More

An excursion to the 'garden of remembrance' (women and children concentration camps during the South African War - Anglo-Boer War (1899-1902)) and a visit to Navil Hill with a aereal overview of Bloemfontein makes this visit really wortwhile.

A nice relaxed drive up to the top of Naval Hill which is in a Game Reserve - it has the most stunning views as far as the eye can see of Bloemfontein at the top, plus there are view points to stop off on the way up. An added bonus would be to open a small coffee shop!

Took a Saturday drive up Naval Hill. Was very disappointing in the lack of / poor selection of wildlife. No functional restaurant on site. The facilities are there but it looks like the restaurant just never came off the ground. Could not visit the planetarium as it was booked for a function. Could be a nice outing if they get... More
