We visited Kwantu mainly for the elephants. On arrival we entered a very large building which was nicely decorated and maintained. There was a large restaurant which we were told was no longer in operation. The gift shop was locked up. I was aware that these elephants were not 'wild' and could be ridden but was not prepared for the... More

[Please note that I am reviewing from a Volunteer point of view] So, I booked my trip through Global Work and Travel which placed me at KWANTU game reserve. (TIP: to save some money and time wastage.......do NOT go through Global Work and Travel. They over charge and you can just book at the reserve directly to save some money).... More

Up close with the Big5 unbelievable. Friendly rangers cared about showing us all they possibly could. They were very enthusiastic about it. They made our two days stay memorable. Food at the resort was also catered to our request/taste. Kids loved the experience of playing with lion cubs and witnessing life in wild so close. A great experience over all!

Had a day safari experience. Turned up and offered morning snacks before a 2 hour safari. We then visited the predator rehabilitation centre and played with Lion cubs. We were then given a brilliant lunch before being taken off to their elephant sanctuary. Great day out. Highly recommend.

In their website they had wrong GPRS coordinates, tell me how would you get there without directions. We called and told them that we felt we are being lost and we are using their coordinates to be told that no they are wrong. Who does that heee, so we took the first national park with elephants that we can get... More

Dear Daphny We are sorry to hear of your experience and that you were unable to visit us. As per our conversation, the co-ordinates which you had inserted were incorrect and we resorted to "ancient directions" after we exhausted all other methods, and after you were still not able to find us, as we are situated directly off the national... The three weeks I spent volunteering at Kwantu were incredible! The staff are all friendly and knowledgeable, the accommodation was modern and cleaned daily and it was so easy to make friends with all the other volunteers! The activities we were taking part in often involved some serious hard work – digging, chopping down trees and fence clearing in the... More
