We only did a day trip, and saw four of the big five (no elephants here). It was a good 2 hours drive around, but they have only one lion and one lioness. They do have accommodation as well.

We went to this reserve so as to ride horses amongst the game. This is a small reserve and like a lot of these it can feel a bit like a zoo but this is to be expected, if you want to get amongst the animals in the wild go to Botswana. We liked it a lot because you could... More

I took a group of education students for a visit to this Reserve recently. It was an amazing experience for all of us. One enters the reserve on to vast plains that are full of springbok and zebra, and in the distance, grazing contentedly, were some rhino. Our guide's name was Kiewiet, and he was incredibly informative. He seemed to... More

Had a great time with the Safari and the overnight stay. The colonial-style lodge made you feel you where in "out of africa". We were lucky that we had no elecricity on the first evening (4 hour power shortage within western cape), therefore we had our delicious dinner with candle lights and fireplace (perfect scenery).

This reserve is a small one with not that many animals. We went on a game drive with a very informative guide/driver. The lions (2) and cheetah (2) were in different small enclosures so we could get up close for photos but it did feel a bit like a visit to a UK game park not like the game parks... More

We travelled this February with some friends on their first trip to Africa. So the visit to Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve was ideal to get them close to some of the game they may miss later when we go to Chobe & Vic Falls. The guide was quite honest that the animals are fed and don't hunt, but they looked... More

We found this place to be another money making racket where the animals are the ones paying the price. They have only 2 lions in their own seperate enclosure. They don't hunt as they are fed, they are not allowed to re-produce so why have these animals other than to coax foreigners. Then they also have cheetahs in their own... More
