Took a lady from the UK and another from the USA on the horse safari. It was magic. Robert our guide was brilliant, informative and funny. We saw giraffe, springbok, eland, Nyala, wildebeest, buffalo, gemsbok, waterbuck, fallow deer, zebra, hippo, crocodile, ostrich, bontebok, red hartebeest. So special, 2 hours out on the reserve was like having a weeks holiday!

High Standard in colonial ambience. Very big and nicely decorated rooms. Excellent curry for dinner.

The staff, the bedrooms, the food, the game drive was the best experience I have ever had. I will be recommending this place to everyone I know and will go back as soon as I can. Thank you for such a great time, stunning place. And the staff were very friendly and helpful xxxx

We have travelled to many game reserves in South Africa, from the basic to ultra-luxury, but found Plett Game Reserve to be quite unique. Perhaps more appealing to overseas visitors due to the guaranteed viewing of the big game, it is unique for a venue 20 minutes from Plettenberg Bay. Accommodation ranges from rooms dark in the main house block,... More

First time to South Africa. Plattenburg Bay was absolutely incredible and I would defiantly return. The staff was very accommodating and the food was very good. My only comment some what controversial is that we arrived late to the lodge from Cape Town approximently 10:30. No staff was on sight to check us in. However, the adventure and laughs we... More

A mere 15 minutes outside of Plett and one feels as if in a distant almost-Savannah environment! The large park is full of buck, and we were also lucky enough to see giraffes, lions and cheetahs, as well as the resident wild dogs and hippos on our informative drive. Be sure to dress warmly.

Wow, talking about "Out of Africa" experience, especially for price. Quiet, old British safari lodge feel (it was built as that in 1822). Outstanding service and food. Great for the kids to explore the grounds. Out door fire pits every night, good selection of drinks and wine. Good water pressure and hot water. Woke up to my kids saying "... More

I can really recommend the horse safari in plett bay game reserve. You come up really close to the animals and there is a lot to see. (Not recommendable for people who just want to see the Big 5 - on the horse safari you will only see to of them (rhino and buffelo)) They have Hippos, a lot of... More

We did a 2 hour game drive and experienced most off the animals close up. The wild dogs were a highlight for me as as they were absent from all other Western Cape reserves which I have recently visited . Elephants are the only absentees of the big 5 from this reserve. A very enjoyable visit with a knowledgeable guide.... More

We did the 2 hour game drive with our kids (age's 7 & 11) today and it was absolutely fantastic. Worth every cent. Can't get over the size of the reserve and the amount and variety of wildlife. We were extremely fortunate to see all of the animals up close and personal. Our guide was extremely knowledgable and friendly. He... More
