Have seen it sliding! It's real!

It may not be much to look at now, but when I was much younger and would visit Jerome they had to close part of the highway to let the jail stabilize. Well it didn't and they had... read more

It may not be much to look at now, but when I was much younger and would visit Jerome they had to close part of the highway to let the jail stabilize. Well it didn't and they had to move it so they could open that part of the road. Great little town, but not glitzy like Las Vegas, so... More

Jerome is a funky, interesting Bohemian-style old mining town is Arizona. THe jail is one of the free attractions that you can check out as you wander around the town. It conjures up images of the Old West. Be sure to poke around in the little shops. The people are very friendly!

Visited this on the Ghost Tour ( Take it if you can ) I enjoy the history of it , on it's own I don't think it was that big of a deal and you would have missed it if you didn't know it was there . But during the tour we were able to learn about why it was... More

It's sliding alright along with the section of the parking lot surrounding it! The area has recently been barricaded for safety.

When I think of a ghost town I'm looking for deserted buildings, old cemeteries, tumble weeds blowning down the roads, this is is not it. Most of the buildings have been updated into restaurants or art galleries, boutiques. There are some old deseerted buildings and of course the jail. There are some buildings that should be condemed but are still... More

Seeing this jail, which moved down the mountain, was an interesting sight. It only needs a few minutes of time since there is nothing else to learn.

The jail was still somewhat in tact after sliding down the hill. It was interesting to hear the history and view what was left of the jail itself.

We were disappointed the jail had been moved from where it originally fell. You can actually drive right to where the jail is now located.

Considering this was a real jail. And it's an old one at that we checked it out. You should list some of the people that were visitors. I'm sure a few of them we might know. Very interesting indeed.

We almost missed this attraction. It looks like some ruins in the dirt parking lot. Had we not seen the people taking pictures we would have completely missed it. It is located just past were the road becomes a one-way street and the traffic can be very busy. It is an interesting 5-10 minute stop. One plaque describes the whole... More
