I enjoyed spending time at the Historical Museum. After visiting you have a good sense of what the areas was like in the past.

Hosted in an old school building, the Historical museum is a Hodge-podge of local memorabilia. The area was settled primary as farms, given good soil and plentiful irrigation, with some ranches as well. While most of the exhibits are primarily of local interest, I found fascinating the information about all the aircraft training areas in Arizona during the two World... More

This is not a big fancy museum but they have a lot of wonderful, old pictures of Gilbert and it is very interesting. The building itself is interesting and sets the atmosphere for taking a peek back in time.

This place has a great selection of Gilbert history. When we toured there was a quilting show. This is a self guided tour, there is a small fee for the entrance. If you come to Gilbert, this is a great place for a visit. Its close to down town.

This is a nice, small museum that appeals to those interested in learning about this "town" -- still -- that grew from 5,000 people to over 200,000 people in the past 25 years. But it's first 100 years as a rural community outside of Phoenix is informational, as are the museum memorabilia and farm equipment.

Upon arriving, we were welcomed with memorials of war veterans and old farm equipment that is indicative to the towns history. The grounds are meticulously maintained and it showed as I passed by the groundskeepers busy at work. There's a greeter inside and the admission is Less for senior citizens. there's a nice shop inside to browse and quilts hanging... More

This museum is a great introduction to the town of Gilbert, and a fabulous reminder of our humble heritage. The old photos and artifacts are fascinating; I would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about where they live...or wants a reminder of the small town where they grew up!
