Stopped for one night. Great place Back off highway and yes the train track is close but didn't bother us. Campground is small and quiet. Roads are not paved but easy to maneuver our 40 ft motorhome. Only draw back was bushes - they were trimmed but needed to be careful getting in spot with 4 slides. Walked to travel... More

Needed to use the restroom which was very clean. I also ended up learning a lot about dates at this visit. I really enjoyed the date shake but my husband did not. Planning on stopping there on the way back through to pick up some dates and have another shake.

Now is the time that you need to have a date shake. Besides the history and the industry that is this date area, these shakes are amazing. The base is a date mash and I think the ice cream is chocolate . You can sample every kind of date. Be careful - that funny looking little tray in the front... More

Dateland is a popular stop between PHX and San Diego. Gas, food and gift shop. There is also a Subway within the building so it represents a viable option along I-8. We do not find the 'date shakes' good. They use a date paste and soft serve ice cream. Not our idea of a quality shake. However, if you are... More

I love dates and had read about this place on the Internet prior to my journey. I stopped here on 12/12/15 to inspect the dates. First, this is about the only place in Dateland. I was under the impression there was more, but no, this is all there is. It's kind of like an old Stucky's or a convenience store.... More

We stopped here on a road trip and always will now when heading to San Diego from AZ. Clean, nice restrooms. Exactly what you want when traveling with kids.

The store has a little for everyone. Usually just use the restroom (it's clean) and get date cookies, muffins, or bread. Those are so good! The last time we went picked up a bag of dates. They are really good to eat just by themselves. We will have to get a crate of them next trip - one bag is... More

What's better than a milk shake on a hot day? A DATE SHAKE!!! Not only are they fresh since they're grown right there, they are delicious. Where else can you get these? They also have cactus shakes, another odd one but delicious. I like to stop here every time we pass through.
