I do like dates and was anxious to try a date shake. It was very unusual tasting and very different from any other shake you ever had. I had to get used to the flavor and there are actual pieces of dates in the shake that get stuck in your straw when you are trying to drink it. After finishing... More

If you like the sweet taste of dates you will not be disappointed! I stop by to try to shake and I was pleasantly pleased with the taste. This is not something that you get every where. They told me the dates are from the local farm. It was very tasty

Having researched this place before I was excited to try the date shake. Outside they have little cages for you to leave your dog in, apparently a mist is suppose to fall into the cages. But the mist never hit the floor, so we took our dog inside and no one seemed to mind. The date shakes were really good.... More

It is worth a stop at the Travel Center in Dateland to try the famous "date shake." My wife, kids, and I stopped by for something cool and refreshing to aid us on our hot trek across the Arizona desert - what we got was more than what we'd hoped for. The regular gas station travel center is clean, air-conditioned,... More

We were on a road trip and returning home via the 8 and decided to revisit Dateland. The Date shakes really can't be passed up. They are just great and get the LARGE size. Not that much more for that size. When driving and drinking the date shake, you'll feel great! This visit we used another exit and saw the... More

This was my favorite pit stop besides museums on my way back home to San Diego from Tucson. You can try everything here with dates on or in it. Famous for their Date shake. I am so happy I stumbled upon this place. I even bought several gags in the establishment and got some date sauce for my moms bbq... More

I've been driving to and from San Diego for years but never have stopped here until now. I'm glad we did. We took a break, tried some dates and got fueled up for the rest of our road trip back to Tucson.

I had heard of this place, and stopped on our way to Surprise. They have a gift shop, Quiznos, ice cream shop, mini mart, gas, restrooms, and kennels. Read the history on their website. Very interesting. Obviously all kinds of date products for sale. They also ship. Husband and I split a date malt. We both agreed it was excellent.

Whenever we travel on I-8, we always stop here. We knew this place when it looked like a shack ten or so years ago.The gift store is fun to explore. It is small, but has lots of items that we have not seen anywhere else. There are dates for tasting and for buying. Adjacent on one side is a grocery... More
