Hot air balloon flights are meant to take in panoramic views and vistas of the surrounding natural beauty. That is why Verde Valley Balloons flies in the Cottonwood area, 20 miles south of Sedona, not in the Red Rocks area.

To see the Red Rocks, we suggest taking a jeep tour. There's no better way to get up close and personal with the rock formations. But if you'd like to experience extraordinary views (depending upon the weather and wind direction) of Mingus mountain, the Verde River, the Prescott National Forest, Tuzigoot National Monument, Jerome, Cottonwood, or sites as far away as Sedona and even the San Francisco peaks at the base of the Colorado Plateau near Flagstaff, you will want to fly with Verde Valley Balloons in Cottonwood because you simply can't see those vistas anywhere else!

Additionally, because of the location we fly, we are able to fly more days per year and in more varied directions than our competitors closer to Sedona simply because of the geography of our flying area. This allows us to keep our costs down and allows us to pass those savings on to you.

Of course, you could pay almost $50 more per person to fly closer in to Sedona if you wish, but why do that when you can fly with us to see the vistas from up high, then take a jeep tour of the red rocks area and have a more enjoyable and adventurous day at almost the same price as a balloon ride with our competitors.

What a great group of people to fly with! From the time of our booking, to the champagne toast on the ground, our experience was first class. We booked last minute (two days) after another company cancelled our reservation (made in August) and were unable to accommodate us another day. The fight was not close to the Red Rock area,... We just came back from our very first Hot Air Balloon ride. We were a bit nervous at the thought of being up in a balloon, but it was the most calming experience ever. Don, our very experienced pilot was a true gift - you could tell you were in the good hands. This is "must do" while you are... More

Even thou you are not flying on top of the Red Rocks, the experience is never the less wonderful and exciting and definitely worth having! Very peaceful. You get to see the landscaping of the desert, the sunrise, and some wild life if you get lucky. Don, the pilot, was a wonderful host, very entertaining! And champagne at the end... More
